At least with Sims 3 you had the customization button to make everything vastly different even though it was the same couch or wallpaper. I like the way the Sims interact I guess.. Also, Nintendo is sort of immune to criticism Long answer: Nintendo does like to reuse titles, stories and characters that are popular, but since they value gameplay over story, this doesn't usually result in repetitive gameplay. For example, even though Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 3D World both feature Mario saving Peach from Bowser, they feel completely different. Nintendo does occasionally release new IPs, such as Splatoon and Arms, but those don't sell as well as Mario Kart or Mario Party. Nintendo is rarely criticized due to nostalgia for when they pioneered gaming, their unique design philosophy, their incompetence when it comes to business, (which people find charming) and their great recent games.
