This is true. This is true for any live service game like this especially. We did pay but we paid ahead of time. It should have been an extended beta. They were dishonest but at the end of the day we still have the product we paid for… just didn’t get it in the state it was intended by the majority of audience to be in. I can say I have over 250 hrs in the game and I did enjoy it enough to sink that amount of time in… however it did get dull. We can only hope they improve the longevity of the game from here on. But to be quite honest putting 250+ hours in to something I would say it’s fair to assume I “got my money’s worth” thus far.

@anengineerandacat9 ай бұрын
Whole bunch of things, been in organizations much larger than Blizzard and nothing moves within a week or two unless it's confined to a particular team. Adjusting weights for classes and such? Trivial, could likely be done as quickly as the analysis is concluded (that's the "work") the adjustments is essentially a delployment. Fixing storage sizing issues? Multi-team, talking maybe a month to fully identity the issue and two months to fix. Gem storage issue? Same sorta situation, goes across teams, meaning it won't happen anywhere within a timespan folks find acceptable. The fastest turnaround will be from things coming from their sustainment / SRE / hypercare team, likely could happen within minutes to hours but it will generally never be a big new shiny feature just very tiny things that can either be a configuration change or a flag to disable something. For anything "tangible" 2-4 weeks at "best" from initial launch and feedback collected (which effects turn around). The developers as a whole aren't watching Reddit or sitting in the forums, by the time they push out their changes they already got tasked 10x other things to work on; someone entirely different does all that nonsense who isn't remotely connected to those in the trenches. The amount of layers between the customer and the actual developer doing the code changes is massive.
@creepy999 ай бұрын
@@anengineerandacat Adjusting weight is probably a bigger process than that. They have to get their best guess on the adjustments, have it approved, code it, test that it's behaving as coded, THEN run stats on did it do what we thought... that's probably a pretty long pole in the whole process.

The board room rushed release, gatekept content and QoL, had devs implement nerfs to slow progression after initial release, they launched premade s1 and got a ton of backlash, opened communication to slow the bleeding, released not as premade s2, and then they started to listen to the devs after the players base roasted them. Anyone who can read body language knew that's what happened after the nerf patch and subsequent campfire chat. Now they are allowing the dev team to have more input and the game is improving. That's generally what happens to a game once the people who actually play it are included in the decision making process instead of stuffed suits in a board room and accountants.
