Thanks for being so transparent! That's almost 10k a month! It's amazing! I can't save that much because I don't make that much, but even saving 3k a month is a good start.

Man, if you guys did it in 2yrs 8months with 311k, we have around 110k together and make around that same base (before side hustles). We need to get this started. We could probably do it in a year or so 🤔 Thanks for the inspo!

If you're married, it will only work if your spouse will also commit to the budget! I am a saver but my husband is not. Last straw was when I found out he hid money on the side to give to side of the family for the last 2 years.

Quodos to you both. You were both disciplined. It is great that you fought through curbing your love for spending. However, let me tell you that when God is missing from your life, you will want to fill it with material things or some other addiction. Also with God in your life, he will help you immensely on your endeavors. Place him first, others second, and your selves last. God Bless 🙏.

Hey there! Love the video, and congrats on being debt free! I’m curious if you followed the baby steps exactly or if you continued to invest while you were paying off your loans. I am still getting my 401k match of 5.5% because I want to maximize my returns (my company matches the full 5.5%). I’m always interested to hear what other people choose and why, though. Definitely save up and get that massage chair soon!!! 🎉

Once I get back from our trip to see family I’m going to have to go through your finance videos more thoroughly. Besides our house, we *only* have about 1/8 the amount you all had. I think we could knock it out pretty easily if I stop buying things for the kids 😅 being debt free would give us over 1200 a month to save without noticing a difference. Luckily it’s all fairly low interest.

Thanks for watching! 🥰 and yes! If we are blessed with kiddos, we are excited to teach them about money and being able to enjoy it, save it, and be generous with it! 😃 and that will include not going into debt if at all possible! ❤️

I used to feel defeated about 4 years ago when I would watch videos of people paying off debt with 6 figure income. I was making $50k and has $125k in debt. Now I make $120k and I have $93k in debt. And that’s mostly because within that time frame I got married and we cash flowed the wedding etc and I quit my day job (they were laying people off) to start a business. Now my husband is pulling out loans for med school so I’m a bit stuck right now lol. Trying to weigh out cash flowing school, paying off debt, building savings since we are in our mid-30s and want to get pregnant… may the Lord lead us.

The hardest thing is making up our minds that we absolutely want to get our finances under control and will do whatever it takes to get there. There is this point where we need to be totally honest with ourselves about our situation and lay it all out. Lay it all out and craft a plan and set up small goals and big goals and get busy. We all make mistakes, but we need to stop where we are and take an honest look at where we are and the direction we are going. If we are not headed in the right direction, we need to do an about face. I describe out time in debt payoff mode as on and off misery, but it wasn't permanent.
