Carbon capture is the process by which CO2 is scrubbed from flue gas using a liquid with basic amines. The captured CO2 can either be stored or recycled as fuel.
When utilized at a waste-to-energy plant such as Amager Bakke (CopenHill), carbon capture actively reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In this way, carbon capture can be an important short term tool to fight global warming.
