I love your garden setting! There’s absolutely nothing I would change. The decision to paint the hanging baskets black and the terra cotta pots with salmon geraniums. The little details that elevates decor from shabby to chic. Chef’s kiss all day long. ❤😘❤

So wonderful. You definitely made the right choice! I have a smaller new build 2019 home on a slope and I regret doing a deck. I am new to gardening as well and after learning more and living in the home a raised stone patio would have been much more functional and beautiful. If I could afford it I’d tear my deck down and replace with multi level stone patio!

@@growformegardening I’m going to assume you didn’t go through a drought like we did earlier this summer. And if you did, you kept everything really healthy. How often do you fertilize your flowers? I thought I read or heard weekly. Sounds like a lot to me, but what do I know.? Lol.

Beaitiful job, gentlemen! It is said, when plants are in a container, we must SAY we are in at least 1 zone below us. So, if you are really 5b, container plants must be hardy to Zone 4b. If not -- just provide great, caretaking protection for the peach tree if it's only hardy to 5b.

I'm absolutely speechless! My mom suggested I watch your channel as I am determined to begin a 100 foot hedge of limelight hydrangeas this weekend and my heart is set on a pea gravel patio off the porch of our newly built Cape Cod style home. Be still my heart! Would you share details of the pea gravel you used for the patio? Landscape fabric underneath? Color of stone? Is it a standard pea gravel? Also, is that a metal edging? Stunning! We are going for a historic feel and will be using old grinding stones for the stepping stones to enter the patio area. New subscriber and I'll be binge watching the rest of your videos!

Wow thank you! The pea gravel is 3” or so thick. They did landscape fabric underneath with metal edging to keep it in place. The stone is actually a crushed product…the slightly jagged edges lock together so you don’t sink in as much as a pea gravel.

It's hard to believe you two have only been gardening several years. Do either of you have a design background? Everything in your yard is spectacular. Did you by chance take video as you put together the landscaping? you could do an "after the fact" you tube video.I'm sure everyone would enjoy! What a labor of love! You are really experts on container planting, and it’s a true joy to see you together. When I moved from zone 7b/8a to 5a, it was so hard to embrace the annuals, but I have learned to love them since then-and not only in pots but also in beds to fill in. The only small critique I have of the design (you get used to this in design school 😉) is, it is sometimes nice to separate the seating areas; for example, put the terrace with pergola and fire pit further away. This creates a destination as well as a place from where you can sit and enjoy a different view of the house and garden. Looking forward to watching more on your channel!

We actually pushed the pergola away from the steps...originally the plan had it much closer. With additional budget we may have extended it further still.

For people that like to entertain, I can see why they’d enjoy the closer together. It keeps the party close while still giving plenty of room to spread out. I also think that because the terrace is much higher than the fire pit area there is still a difference of view.

I don’t have a large garden so all my evergreens in containers get root pruned every 2-3 yrs so I can keep them there indefinitely which works out well. No need to keep upsizing pots.

That’s great! Welcome. The pots of the terrace are from Tucso. We use Coast of Maine soil. You can them in our Amazon shop. urlgeni.us/amazon/8UO6f

Lynne here . Please can you give any hints on how you get your pots so full. I’m in zone 3/4 so I can’t plant until mid may but mine are always so pathetic 😂 what fertilizer do you use? Beautiful beautiful !!! Love your pots and the garden design. You’re both so talented

We actually aren't too far from you in the planting department! We had a late frost this year in the second week of May which set stuff back. We use the Proven Winners water soluble fertilizer every Sunday. We also choose plants that we know we get big!

We still use a hose. Unfortunately with the stone it would be very hard to hide the tubing. I’ve tried to figure it out and maybe at some point I’ll come up with a plan.
