So the plan is. Two Landscape Photographers edit the same image chosen by other Landscape Photographers from the Thumbs up Photography Facebook group.
How and what we do differently and what we do the same, then give our opinions at the end.

Great to see the two different styles of processing. Very interesting to watch. I don't have a preference as to which I prefer 🤔 because they are very different. Great idea and one that I'd like to see in again in a future video. I also think Martin's idea of selecting an image from the 👍 up Facebook group is great

Hi Steve & Martin. One of the best processing comparisons I have ever watched. i use colour selection in LR to bring out or desaturate colours and use a brush to remove where I don't want the change.that is in this image the greens and yellows. Agree with Martin on LR is being used more and more. when I take an image into PS, it's set to content aware first. circular grads would have been used too. i would have gone to a 16 x 9 and left to the left of the stump in and used highlight slider on what was left of the sky. Loved this exercise.

a very different and interesting video Steve, really enjoyed this one mate, It is nice to see the comparison between yours and martins end result after quite different edits, my personal thoughts, I think I prefer your cropped version, but I like matins colour renditioning, but both exceptional well done, I think it would have been interesting to see martins version cropped, I think then I could have really made my mind up, well done to both of you. keep them coming mate.

If you are so advanced in your editing why don't you create a video yourself and share it so we can learn from you?

My mum used to always say to me, if you have nothing nice to say it is normally best to say nothing! Just advise!! I would say why not state why it is poor? Why not ask for the same RAW file to be sent to you so you can share your expertise so they, no I mean we can all learn from you. To say their editing skills is really poor without giving a reason as to why it is so is not very informative, provide reason, explain what you would do different and why you would! It would seem the majority of watchers disagree with your comment, so perhaps you are wrong?

@@MHLandscape what people do not seem to get is that photography is a kind of art, no it is an art and one persons interpretation of an image will be different to another. If you both take an image at the same time on different cameras it will be different 100% of the time. You the edit that image, together at the same time it will alway be different, thats the whole point. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIKE IT or THEM!! To put your edit/version out there on a platform takes guts and people will always like or dislike your work that is the point. To say it is amateur is just ignorant and damn right rude. Say Nice but I do not like your edit, Reason - too much saturation, not enough, not horizontal blar blar blar - you get the idea. I do not care if people want to comment on my work, no one does but DO IT CONSTRUCTIVELY or just DO NOT BOTHER
