Hello! Nice to meet you! That’s exciting! The alphabet board I got at the Dollar Tree. They have lots of cheap things for younger aged kids. I’m not sure about the worksheets you’re referring too. I’d have to go back. The curriculum does come with “student worksheets”. We enjoyed MFW for second grade. I wasn’t a fan of the Language Arts book. There are FB groups specifically for MFW with the grade. I’m in the first and second grade groups. They share good information. Second grade teaches US history and all 50 states. There are lots of people who will participate with your family in sending state postcards so your child can collect them all. We’re switching to the Good and the Beautiful this year for third grade. 🥰

You could do a 4 day schedule really easily. Typically Friday is an easy day, it’s more planned for outside exploration. Art and music are added in. It’s simple things. Music is added in much later into the year’s curriculum. You can always add art in easily with younger kids.

That’s exciting!! Praying you enjoy and have a wonderful year! We just did different fun learning activities with our little guy. We actually decided to hold off and he’s starting kindergarten this year. We wanted him to be fully ready on his own before starting kindergarten, he just turned 6. We’ll be using the MFW kindergarten program for him.

Depends on the day. For my son we break it up throughout the day in small 15-20m bits. For my oldest we sit and do the whole thing. It usually takes a couple hours. We count a lot of things as homeschool outside of book work. We made a couple batches of banana bread today and I count that. They’re reading the recipe and measuring the ingredients. The beauty of homeschool is you can change it up each day if you need too or be more strict. You do what works for you.

Hello! We just finished yesterday. We really loved it. Our daughter did really well. We added in some different science material. I’ve seen some families love the science and some not so much. We’re choosing to do MFW next year for 2nd grade.

Unfortunately no. We did Abecka for Kindergarten and she struggled with learning their phonics. We’ve been using it for our son and he’s doing well.

@@WoltermanHomestead my daughter knows all her sounds and a lot of CVC. She will be 6 Nov 7- would you recommend that I start her in 1st?

@@lindsaypotter3694 I would recommend praying about it. Maybe join the MFW First Grade FB group that’s filled with parents who have used the curriculum and others. Personally I think she’d do fine with it. I know as the grades go on most parents start to supplement other programs and move away from the MFW language arts. We actually don’t use My Father’s World anymore. We have been using a mixture of curriculums.
