Talk about inappropriate, not to mention ill-advised: my husband and I met as inpatients in a psychiatric hospital on Christmas day in 1992. We were both out by that New Year's, and three weeks later we were engaged. Knowing the challenges we'd have along the way, we took a year and a half to go through counseling and live together before we married - neither of us were previously married or had lived with anyone, and we each had had just one prior serious relationship. I was 33 and he was 25. This June we'll be married 24 years. Ignore the haters. It's all about the two of you.

Cute story! No regrets girl. I started dating before my divorce to my abusive ex husband. When you are done emotionally, the rest is just paperwork. My current husband and I only met 3 times in person before we got engaged. He was in the military stationed in California and I was in Idaho. Spoke all the time online and on the phone too. I think sometimes it’s better that way. You are forced to get to know each other when it’s phone conversation. He drove 15 hours through the night to propose to me at 3 o’clock in the morning. Doesn’t sound rushed, I think people don’t understand what it’s like to fall out of love with someone. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but when the love isn’t there I see no point into putting life on hold until you’re legally separated. I met my Husband online also . He was in Michigan also, and i was in Florida, He also drove down to Florida to be with me, and he was tired by the time he got there and i worked all day and rushed to get to the apartment i got and he was waiting for me there . Really cool to hear this because my fiancé and I also met online and fell in love over the phone for about two months before we actually met in person. After we went on our first real life date we moved in together and we’ve been together ever since. Oh my gosh, Maria, this is so adorable! I could see how giddy and in love with him you are. Your first time meeting makes me think of my first time meeting my boyfriend. We had been talking day in and day out for months as well, and finally decided to meet up. He drove 8+ hours to see me (from Boston to Toronto) and when he called to say he was 10 minutes away I froze. I've never had that much anxiety in my life but I was just paralyzed with nerves/excitement. I literally had to get my roommate to go to our apartment lobby to greet him. I remember sitting on my bed and hearing the front door open, then his voice. My heart starting to pound and then I worked up the courage to go see him. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen and I just wanted to run over and kiss him but I was a ball of nerves. He took the initiative and gave me a hug and we spent a beautiful weekend together. In just a few weeks we'll be celebrating 5 years together!

Your videos were the peace in my life I needed at those scary times. Where is that? It's so beautiful. I can totally relate to you when you said all of your pain was during the marriage, and that you moved on from your marriage while you were still married. I'm separated from my husband now and about to file for divorce, so I feel the exact same way. This almost 3-year marriage has been the most depressing and painful time of my life. I feel so much happier now that he's not a part of my days. This video gives me hope that someday I will find that one for me.

I've been in a long distance relationship, so I relate very much to your story. Especially moving on from a dead relationship to a healthy one so soon. And meeting your spouse in a LDR for the first time is an amazing feeling of shy fireworks with abundant anticipation all built up. It's such a wonderful feeling for ppl who are in LDR. I found ASMR around 2012 and your videos were some of the first I listened to. When you watch someone for so long you start to feel weirdly invested in their personal stories. I remember around the time my best friend was going through major health issues, you were starting to open up on your blogging channel about how depressed and lonely you were feeling. That really resonated with me and I felt like, being in a bad place myself, I had a connection with what you were going through. It's been so amazing to see your mood lift through the years, to see you starting to heal from your previous marriage and to see you happier than I've ever seen you. Luckily my friend is no longer sick and things have gotten a lot better for me, and while this was happening on my end, you found an amazing guy in Daryl. Time really does heal everything.

This was so fun to watch! My fiance came over one weekend after dating for a few weeks and never left 😂. We've been together a year and 6 months now and it's so obvious we are so good for each other and very much in love! 😁 The transition was actually very smooth (and I was used to being alone and loved my space!) Lol! You guys are so inspiring!

i talked to my husband for years online. and kept it on the down low because i feel like only in the past couple years is it okay to talk about being "dating" online. but when we finally met up we were surprised how quick we meshed and how quick we moved on with each other... buuuut you felt like you known them forever. i loved hearing the awkwardness of the first meet. because it was the same for us. you love them but it also feels like a weird love-at-first-sight feeling!

Dear Maria, I follow your channel since 24 feb. 2011 and I know in that time it wasnt easy for you. I remember an update that you were stuck in the 'crappy noisy' appartment where you had to wait for after midnight to be able to shoot a video. I felt your tears. You met your Daryl in May 2012. In june 2012 I met my nowadays husband at a children canp we were leaders at (good tip for meeting good guys) We married exactly 1 year after our first official date August 26th 2013 and december 2013 our son was born. Today I am two months pregnant of our second child. We are more than happy! Back to you guys. I am so happy for you that you found eachother, that love lifted you up and together you grew in what you love doing. And are able to earn money with it. (save some money because you never know how long you really love doing this, maybe you have a need to move on or need a new startup). Omg so similar to my now husband and I. We met online gaming. He lived in Rhode Island and I lived in Canada. Asked him to meet me in Ottawa in December 2009 as I was there for a meeting. He drove a Jeep Cherokee which gave him issues along the way in a snow storm. We married in 2011 and he now lives in Canada. Love at first sight. I knew he was the one. It’s both our 2nd marriage. When I first saw this video I was having a hard time with my boyfriend and thought if I would feel like you said like free without him and well we ended our relationship a month ago, after 6 years with him I thought I would be extremely depressed but I actually feel good.
