@@Alex-mh6ou You're totally right. I just thought it may help the viewer to know when someone says they get "4hrs longevity," how many sprays did they use to get that particular experience. Just another tidbit to add to a review. But otherwise, yes. Spray as much as you feel comfortable with.

Another problem with spraying the wrist is that when you wash your hands, the fragrance gets washed off.

Ewwww! 🤣 Just kidding, but some people do (I didn't realize it, but I do, especially in public restrooms), so I can see how spraying the wrists might not work too well. I tend to spray all over my arms instead of my wrists (plus my wrists sometimes make fragrances smell quite different; my inner elbow crease does that, too).

Excellent video! The only thing I’d add is to go lightly until you know how a fragrance reacts on your skin. My first time wearing Explorer, I went 7 or 8 sprays because everyone said it was a weak performer. I was choking everyone around me, including myself.

Man you’re so right about being bombarded if you spray too high on your chest. I sprayed Versace Dylan blue on my upper chest, and man that Ambroxon was nauseating. Gave me a headache. Almost got rid of the fragrance, but tried it behind my ears and that was so much better.

I've heard that EDT has more alcohol in it, therefore it projects better of the skin. While more perfume and less alcohol should lead to longer lasting.

Theoretically, but the formulations aren't the same. It's not straight up diluted.

In theory thats correct the alcohol is a big part of the fragrance diffusing into the air as it evaporates but there are so many factors that its always the case.

I've noticed spraying on clothes, that I mainly only smell top and mid notes. Sometimes that bottom note dry down is the best note.

I bought YSL EDP at the beginning of the year and was very disappointed with the performance. Love the smell, but didn’t see the “beast mode hype”. Stop for a few months and started wearing in the summer. Also, starting wearing more sprays. It’s a beast now. I put 6 sprays on all my pulse points and 2 on the shirt. I smell it throughout the day, and get more compliments.

The spot that works well for me is the side of the wrist on the inside so at the wrist behind the end of the thumb. It last well there and you don't have that rub off issue nearly as much. Also the top of the hand inline with the base of your pointing finger but closer to the wrist.

"Knowing your Fragrance" is key. There's not a magic number of sprays, certain concentration, or perfect areas. I do aim for 10 - 12 on lighter fragrances and 3- 6 w/heavier fragrances (I spray the same amount on my clothes as I do skin) what's ironic is that I did 6 sprays of 1 Million and my GF couldn't smell me. My mom came in town and I only did 3 sprays and I had to direct her nose to my scent. Lololol. "Less is more" should only apply to the office or first dates.

@Andrei Andrei2 Well the rule of thumb is ask your wife or girlfriend after an hour. From spray to my predetermined destination is usually an hr. for me. Two to 6 sprays of most frag. on my skin, are usually skin scents in 1.5 hrs. Gotta go hard or leave it on the shelf.

Yeah for the amount of sprays, I tend to keep it at 2-3 sprays depending on how strong the scent is. Golden rule is: Less is more.

What is the point of wearing a fragrance that you only want to last 30 min and be a skin scent? I don’t care what cologne you have, 2 sprays isn’t going to be noticed by anyone. If your scent isn’t something you want to project, then maybe consider wearing something that smells nicer?

*It depends on your skin too where you can spray it on. I can't spray on my neck or chest and my friend Markus can't do this too because we have very alcohol sensitive skin. I can only spray on my wrists and not even this works always. The crook of the ellbow I do like once a month but it always gets itchy and red there. That's why, in my videos, you never see me spray anywhere else but on my wrists. Besides that I spray on my clothes, pants too, inside of my shoes, on the bag I wear... That's my way. And I have read that many, many people have alcohol sensitive skin and that you can even develop it after a while when you use perfume on certain areas regularly. Because the combination of aroma chemicals and alcohol ist very irritating to the skin.*

One spray in your hair (assuming a person has hair on their head) works well. Try to avoid using strong scented soap/shampoo. That will clash with fragrance.

I used to spray my wrists, but then realized whenever I washed my hands, I was probably diluting the fragrance. Does anyone recommend any body washes to use in the shower to improve the performance of fragrance sprayed on later? I've been using Old Spice Pure Sport for years but want to try something more moisturizing (at least partly because I've read having dry skin can weaken the performance of fragrances). I'd also like to try something unscented or less scented than the Old Spice is so that I'm not wearing anything that will conflict with the fragrance.

Just use moisturizer, Body Milk or whatever. Don't try to influence your fragrance while showering already, that's overkill. Rather opt for fragrance free stuff.

Dude, if you have dry skin, you need to moisturize after you shower. The fragrance will be eaten up by your skin. Ideally, you moisturize then add some sort of oil to trap the moisturizer and add protective layer if it's your face.

Any unscented body wash. They are the best for the skin, and make the cologne stand out more. After showering apply an unscented lotion, then apply a fragrance for better longevity

When you say "sprays" do you mean the amount of sprays in total across every point (like 4 sprays would be one on each wrist and one spray behind each ear, 4 total) or the amount of sprays per point (4 sprays means 4 on each wrist and 4 behind each ear). I feel dumb asking this question but I also want to understand what people mean by sprays!

What is the best spray distance for projection? When spraying fragrances on skin, especially the wrist, I usually spray 6 inches and the fragrance usually leaves an oily film on the skin (Most of my fragrances are EDP or Parfum concentrations). After the top notes dissipate, the fragrance feels muted and doesn’t project as well. Does Having oily skin help with longevity, but hamper projection? How can I apply EDP and Parfum fragrances with improved projection?

Interesting as I just happened to start spraying behind my knee/hamstrings on leg day at the gym. Got the short shorts on. Unfortunately, spraying on my chest makes me break out so I go elbow crooks, behind ears, back of neck. I'll walk through mist at the end if I want to go heavier

What do you guys think of Armani code absolu parfum? I spray it 3 times before work and when I come back people still notice it on me, so that's like 8+hours lasting fragrance. But usually 2 hours of wearing it i don't even smell it on me...

One of my favourite fragrances, it's great. This is in the Beast Mode category. I would agree, when I wear this for work for the whole day, I'll only spray about 3 sprays. Your nose is going a little blind after a few hours, but it's still there and performing don't worry 😁 Try putting at least two of the sprays behind you on the back of the neck and/or behind your ears. With this one, I'd usually spray once behind each ear, then anywhere around the collar area. If you spray all 3 sprays at the front (neck, collar, top of the shirt etc.) it'll be a bit overpowering for your own nose.

10:21 wait a minute, spraying it on the chest area in my experience barely makes the scent detectable, especially if you're wearing a dress shirt, suit or sweater during winter....

When applying fragrances at a distance of 4-6 inches (every atomizer seems to be different) should you move the atomizer across the skin in a sweeping motion or keep the atomizer stationary, when spraying on your desired pulse point/location? I noticed that when I went to a perfume store recently the associate who applied the Fragrance, sprayed on my skin in a sweeping motion?!

In my experience EDT always projects and lasts longer than EDP or Parfum. In some cases EDP lasts longer but edt still projects better

That's not entirely true; there are EDP's and Parfums that are far weaker than an EDT in projection and longevity. Just because something is labeled an EDP or Parfum it does not mean it will be better; it all depends on what oils are used in the fragrances composition

Hi , Can shaking fragrance affecting its smell specially top notes ? , I tend to take my fragrance everyday everywhere, and carrying it while walking for more than hour daily , but I start to feel it smells different than It was just new

I usually just lift my shirt and spray upwards onto my chest and onto my back. It hits my shirt a little but since I have to change for my work I dont mind.

If you have a scent that dosent last very long, would it not be better to avoid pulse points, and spray extra? Seems like it would last longer if you avoided the pulse points, less evaporation?

How to apply something strong like PdM Layton exclusif? I only use two sprays, one on each side of neck or behind ear area. But I notice an hour later, people who sit next to me in a car, don't like it. Do I go with only one spray?
