Ok folks, this month is special for me - because Willie's album "Phases and Stages" turns 50 (it was released in April 1974), and so do I... 😊
The album is one of the first concept albums written by Willie, it narrates the story of a divorce. Side one tells the woman's story and side two the man's (back then on Vinyl there were two sides! ;-)).
But each song can stand on its own.
I always loved that album, it's one of my favorite Willie albums. I know I've already recorded a lot of songs from that album, but this month is "Phases and Stages" month, so for the whole month of April I will only upload songs from that album. After that I hope I can show you a new song that I wrote recently.

1974 - 50 Jahre her. Kann mich noch genau an die Fußball-WM erinnern :-) Willie Nelson kannte ich damals noch nicht. Schön gespielt - auch die Soli. Spielt Willie die von der rechten Hand auch so ähnlich? Gruß Frank Übrigens dieses "aus Sicht des Mannes/der Frau" war damals wohl Mode: Es gab so ein Film mit Richard Burton/ Elisabeth Taylor "his/hers side", gab es davor allerdings ein paar Jahre frühe in einem franz. Film.

Ja, 50 Jahre vergehen wie im Fluge... aber Du wirst mir dann gleich sagen, dass 60 Jahre noch schneller vergehen ;-). Ich kann mir immerhin noch an die Fußball WM erinnern, wo Stielike den Elfmeter im Halbfinale verschossen hat und Toni Schumacher dann dafür gehalten. Das war glaube ich 82. Willie spielt sehr ähnlich, oder viel mehr ich wie Willie. ;-) Das mit der Mode habe ich mir auch fast gedacht, wobei das Thema ja durchaus zeitlos ist. Danke Dir und Gruß Andy

Hallo lieber Andy! Das ist ja wirklich ein Grund für eine ausgiebige Feier! Wann genau hast Du denn Deinen 50? Ich kann Dich jedenfalls beruhigen - es tut nicht weh (außer am Tag nach der Feier vielleicht ;-) Gibt's da im Kino eine Sondervorstellung zu Deinen Ehren? Auf jeden Fall ist Dein 1. Beitrag zu diesem Themen-Monat echt wunderbar gelungen. Der Willie hat sich da entsprechend musikalisch ausgetobt und Du hast es ihm wieder perfekt nachgemacht, mein lieber Berliner Freund! Auch wieder ein überragend gespielter Solopart, der super zur tollen Gesamtperformance passt! Alle Daumen nach oben und eine angenehme neue Woche aus Oberösterreich! PS: ich bin diesmal etwas später dran, weil ich das Wochenende schon ab Freitag im schönen Tiroler Oberland verbracht habe - echt empfehlenswert auch ohne Ski ;-) LG Hermann

Moin lieber Hermann! Am Samstag ist es soweit! 50 Jahr' graues Haar... naja, zumindest am Bart ;-). Gibt eine kleine Feier im Restaurant mit Familie und Freunden, so knapp 30 Leute. Kann gut sein, dass ich den Sonntag dann ein wenig länger schlafe ;-). Ich mache mir über mein Alter noch keine Gedanken, was wohl daran liegt, dass ich glücklicherweise ziemlich gesund bin, ich habe keine Wehwehchen und bin mit meinem Gewicht sogar fitter als mit 30. Aber wenn irgendwann mal die Zipperlein kommen, kommen vielleicht auch die Gedanken über das Altern... Und tausend Dank für Deinen Kommentar zur Musik, freut mich sehr, dass dir die Aufnahme gefällt. Ist ein gutes Beispiel für die Halbtonschritte, die Willie immer für Übergänge nutzt. Von D zu G? Jeder nutzt D7 dafür, nicht aber Willie, der geht über Halbtonschritte dahin ;-). Hört sich sehr gut an! Ich wünschte ich wäre da auch gewesen, oder hätte das Wetter ausnutzen können, aber da ich jeweils Spätdienst hatte, musste ich mich mit einem schnellen Balkongrillen vor der Arbeit bei Laune halten...
