Instead of throwing the waste, Women in RATTAT CBO are championing this opportunity by collecting this waste from all the charcoal sellers and using the waste to make briquettes. This briquettes are used for cooking. The group and making different types of briquettes using different binders. This has created a lot of opportunity for them. They make briquettes which are tailored made for each cooking method. If you want for brooding chicken, the method of making is different. These Community Based Organization are using different kinds of binders to give different products which are tailor made. They make briquettes for cooking in schools, Hotels, household and for brooding Jikos. These Briquettes are pocket friendly and their demands are very high.
These kinds of very unique innovations are very important to help reduce deforestation while increasing household income. These method helps to reduce the number of trees to be cut to be used for firewood. This activity helps increase household income while fighting climate change.

Unfortunately she forgot to mention that most of the charcoal dust can be got from waste materials. Coconut husks, farm waste, etc. Waste paper can also be used as a binder and that also is a way of cleaning up the environment.

How is it environmental friendly and how is it suppose to stop deforestation and how is it waste while it come from burning trees . Isnt this one way or another like working together with those who cut down trees and burn to make charcoal than you go and buy the dust from them .

Well it reduces the number of trees cut down for charcoal since the charcoal which is already waste and can be dumped is being recycled to make briquettes which is further used for cooking. That means that is the dust we not used then more trees would have been cut to meet the charcoal demand. The briquette is bridging the gap.

The Brigette can also be made from bagass and other waste from water hyacinth which intern produces energy for cooking

Who cares about the audio or contents of ingredients? Certainly not me. I see people who are not frightened to do physical work to better their lives. The majority of people in my country Australia just turn on a switch to cook a meal (God forbid a power outage) and they would not know the real meaning of physical work or hunger. Power to you all.
