huh? Stop having meetings but have meetings is basically what he said. A phone call to someone is a meeting, and unplanned one at that. Sometimes you need more than one person to provide input. A meeting on my calendar also allows me to prepare for the meeting. It drives me nuts when people stop by my desk and ask for me to do something because I'm not prepared for it. (I don't mind providing info if I can do it quickly or without moving my mouse.) I think a better angle would be fewer meetings that you don't need to be in. If you don't feel like you are a contribution to the meeting, you should be able to leave. If you have too many meetings that you can't get any work done, ask your leader what the most important thing to be working on it. I don't love meetings but I also have been on an email string that went on for way too long as well. The book No Fail Meetings by Michael Hyatt covered this topic really well. He's a friend of the Ramsey corporation, I wonder what he would have to say about this topic.

Saying no to any of these factories about working over they fire you. You have very little rights in manufacturing jobs.
