Evolution made no dent in religion. So why should aliens make a difference?

I think most people would not care about the existence of other life forms until it impacts their day to day life. It would just be a distant concept and just another day. I can also imagine Religions simply re-interpreting their scripts to make it all seem like it fits. Then there will be a minority that cannot accept this new reality (reference those that could not accept there was limited quantity of toilet paper left during the pandemic). Personally, it would provide me with great motivation in life as it would add even more purpose than I can already identify. I'd probably try and find a job that allows be to take part in the forming of inter species contact or communication.

What ıf aliens have very different belief about God or gods, life after death etc? Then. Can you still say ıt is the same God created them.

I would love to hear the earthly religions try and convert interstellar beings and convince them of earths "gods"

I mean ... the creation story and basically all stories that didn't take into ETs into account would immediately be (more) suspect. They already were. Religious either have to adapt their stories to take into account the reality of ET, or be left by the wayside as a likely falsehood. If anything merely from the fact that THEY must know more. So whatever WE think is laughable compared to the knowledge they posses

I am fascinated with the thought of Earth making contact with extraterrestrials. It is pretty much a certainty that life exists all throughout the cosmos. I personally believe that we have been visited by ETs in the past and in recent years. In any case, what would this do to religion? Nobody can ever again make the claim that the world/universe was created for Earth's men/women. I think some hard realities are eventually going to sink in to the population and the world will be better off.

Nah nah i dont like that. it was all my god created everything and its just us here, oh and it started 5000 years ago. They dont get to back peddle now. Everytime something is discovered Christianity just goes " oh, ya thats what i meant."

For all we know the creator of life on earth could be an extraterrestrial life form because with a more advanced gene sequencer than is currently available on earth a person could create life by creating genes and sequencing them and instructing them on how to live their lives, behave towards others, etc, which is where religion comes in and perhaps by religions working together, we as humanity may be able to improve the world and the lives of people living in this world (earth)

An advanced lifeform would most likely understand our purpose of having religion, especially if they have previously visited other developing worlds similar to our own. They might have some interesting insights to the factual origins of those religions, They would certainly withhold any info that would create unrest within the primary species of any planet they reveal themselves to.

I’d be interested to know what religion for extraterrestrial life would look like. Would they have their own religion very similar to Christianity? What would it teach? In any case, all life was created by God and if there are any sentient extraterrestrials out there, i hope we can live in relative harmony. Though i suppose that would be a high bar since we keep warring over nonsense ourselves.

From a religious standpoint, what was the point of God creating all of the planets in the universe and only creating life on this one. Watching humanity for an eternity would probably feel to Him like only having the same TV channel playing nonstop.

I mean in Bible the main focus from the Genesis and onwards has been about Earth so there isn't much to respond? If it's intellectual life, then acting like any other human should to another. Be humble and learn.

If alliens had their own religion, religions would get less true looking.... If they had a same one as us humans, i'd think we should be 99% sure thatks the true one... Logically

Buddhism really accepts alien life don't know much about what other religions think about alien life but if alien life is discovered it won't make any impact on buddhism
