Bray Wyatt Becoming Immortal is a new WWE documentary that pays tribute to Bray Wyatt, aka Windham Rotunda. After viewing the Bray Wyatt documentary I was surprised with how it glossed over how WWE repeatedly failed Rotunda, and the Bray Wyatt character itself, over the course of a decade. In this video, I will take a real look at the way WWE repeatedly failed Bray Wyatt.

You lost me when you called FCW NXT. If you paid as much attention as you say, you wouldn't have made that mistake. And yes some of the storyline were crap, THAT was the issue, not the win - loss stat. He was a villain. 80% of the time he should've lost the big match, and the LA Knight feed wasn't pointless, thats a dumb take, you may have not liked the fued, but it wasn't pointless. And with the Undertaker match, he should've won THAT rather than Brock, when he went up against Taker in reality, at that point taker couldn't lose. Cena's first match with Wyatt, Cena was always going to win, where the went wrong was the finish. Cena should've hit him with the chair. You just dont get story telling. Vince didn't either, but at least he understood Bray was a bad guy, you talking as if Bray should've just beat everyone

Bray Wyatt was one of the most interesting things in WWE during the 2010s decade. He had such a captivating character, a phenomenal talker on the mic and he was an amazing brawler despite his size. Every time it seemed like he was about to have a big push WWE did everything they could they just completely squander his momentum which is frustrating. Just when I thought they really were about to capitalize on push with The Fiend character yet again the company stupidly squandered his momentum again. They should really be ashamed of theirselves for horribly misusing such a wonderful talent. R.I.P.

I don’t call him a genius either. It doesn’t take genius to take over your father’s business and make money. That’s an everyday thing. And Vince has been stupid and awful far more than he’s been intelligent, it’s just that his smart choices generated him income. But he’s definitely lost millions in mismanaging WCW, ECW, and burying/firing wrestlers who could have drawn him a lot more money (while keeping toxic ones that cost him money).

100% on point (as usual) sir. Unfortunately Wyatt was among the many wasted opportunities due to the many, many, many bad decisions from Vince. While he always made mistakes and bad decisions, Vince went into overdrive in the last 10 years of his tenure and Wyatt sadly was just one more casualty. You could say he had it a little better (for a while) than others - but not everyone had Windham’s creativity. As long as the WWE controls the narratives of docs and pieces like the Wyatt special, the truth never comes out, their mistakes never acknowledged, and history is always rewritten. This is why non-WWE voices are always important. So thank you as always and keep them coming.

Dropping the belt to Goldberg was actually Bray's idea. The plan was for Goldberg v Roman Reigns at WM36 for the title. Bray didn't want to drop the belt to Roman, as it would have been unpopular at the time. Whereas Goldberg was a hero to Bray and he wanted to do him the honor to be the one who beats him. The plan fell apart when COVID hit, and Roman pulled out of WM36. Someone had to eventually beat the Fiend. He can't be undefeated forever.

I hate to be a parrot, but you're absolutely right about Rotunda getting himself over, no thanks to WWE. When I was a kid, I only saw Husky Harris in Bray Wyatt until he made that character undeniable. Then despite it all, he did his hardest to keep the Bray Wyatt character relevant. And he kept it going with The Fiend despite WWE's bullshit booking. And now, he's no longer with us, and we're only left with what could've been. Rest in Peace, Windham. I wish you could've lived to perform in the Paul Levesque Era.

I remember hearing about Bray's firing and thought it was just the dumbest thing ever. Even more so because, if I remember correctly, I heard that he had been THE to merch seller for a good while. How do you just fire one of your biggest stars like that? The fact that he stayed as over as he did in spite of awful booking is really a testament to him and is HoF worthy all on it's own. Thank you for making this video so I can express my thoughts on this matter. It seemed that with the Wyatt Family, they got a good amount of time and a decent push on the shows with their promos and matches. However, Vince/creative failed Windham and The Fiend character MISERABLY! I started watching during the attitude era, and talked with fans that all feel as I do that the company destroyed the best character and storyline in the 21st Century. In the middle of the 2010's, many began to ponder and discuss what the next big thing was going to be. Yes, there has been great wrestlers, but who was going to be "the new face of fear" that pushed the envelope and was larger than life? In the summer of 2019, The Fiend was exactly what I was waiting 20 years for; and his attack music/sound, good lord! This is just my opinion and I have to emphasize this, but that attack theme is the scariest thing I've heard that outdid Taker's Funeral March and Kane's theme. Another fan at the time of The Fiend's debut said: The Undertaker gave kids nightmares, but The Fiend is about to give grown men nightmares! After they destroyed Windham's wonderful creation and put the cherry on top by letting him go in 2021, I was really hoping AEW would destroy WWE! Unfortunately, AEW is now becoming a joke, but at least now I'm enjoying WWE much more with Paul in charge. Other wrestlers have not been pushed or utilized correctly over the years, but Vince and creative's decision to stop The Fiend's run before it even really started is the worst thing they have done when it comes to a character/storyline. That's why, however, all of us fans are going to make sure Windham's legacy continues to live on and celebrated. Thank you Windham for bringing such joy and excitement to all of us fans that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives!

Before watching the video, and just going off the title alone, I am going to say that Vince wanting to control Windham's vision for his characters is how he was failed. There was no Vince and no mention of Vince by name but from certain remarks made by the people in the documentary you could tell that Windham held some grudges toward the man. He did not like the Husky Harris gimmick (for obvious reasons), he disliked The Fiend being burned (from a character standpoint and how uncomfortable the suit was) and, most notably, hated how outside forces tried to dictate what The Fiend was and where it should go.

Did WWE fail Bray Wyatt? Yes and No. Bray was a multi time world and Tag team champion, he main evented paper view after Paper view after paper view, sold alot of merchandise for WWE, and had the best 6 man tag i have EVER seen (The Wyatt Family vs The Shield at Elimination Chamber 2014). Now, he did get pinned to often, he did lose alot of his feuds, and he should have NEVER been released! I thought as well as many others thought, when he came back under the HHH regime. That it was going to be different, that Bray will FINALLY get what he deserves! but, when God had other plans. When I first heard I was Devastated. I will always remember Bray Wyatt. He will never be forgotten.

First off, Rest In Peace to Bray Wyatt. A wonderful man, a loving father, and a creative mind only for his career to sadly end way too soon. If it wasn’t for Vince’s huge ego, Bray would’ve hit the peak to become the next Undertaker. But it’s another one of “John Cena always wins” trope that fans are always sick and tired of by using the meme-friendly #CenaWinsLOL. Cena didn’t need the win at WrestleMania 30, but alas, fans are not happy. No wonder why WrestleMania 30 hasn’t aged well in recent years. It wasn’t WWE that failed Bray and it’s not his fault, Vince just doesn’t care about pushing talent just to end up being the next victim to get buried by Big Match John Cena and that’s why the keyword for Bray Wyatt’s momentum is simple: 50/50 booking by Vince and his Creative cronies. I was so angry as a wrestling fan that I stopped watching WWE altogether after WrestleMania 30 after they butchered Bray Wyatt’s moment.

Maybe first time around. But the second stint was boring with Bray cutting promos for months and not wrestling. The Uncle Howdy storyline seemed to be all over the place and didn't make sense (they were enemies, they were friends etc). People started booing his promos and saying it was a mistake to bring him back. And remember this was under Triple H. Vince wasn't involved anymore. The "Pitch Black" Match was a disaster. I personally hated the "Firefly Funhouse" non-match at WM36. So his first run was great, but they didn't use him right. But his second run was awful, and if thar stuff was his idea, (Uncle Howdy, Pitch Black), it sucked, and a lot of fans praising him now were booing his promos in 2022.

The fiend character was done after that HIAC match with Seth. Ridiculous they even booked that match because if you dont wanna take the belt of seth but also dont want to beat the hot new character than just dont have the match...its simple. Then obviously being beat by Goldberg when he did get the title just put the nail init and the stuff with alexa i was never really a fan i thought it was too corny

Wwe constantly failed bray because they didn't have clear plans for the character. To me the fiend literally should have just been "you really pissed off bray so now you're dying" type of character. Which it seemed like they considered that at one point with the fiend not facing the miz because they didn't have any bad blood between them so no need to bring the fiend but I'm guessing because the fiend was such a draw and experience they wanted more of the fiend despite it not making sense. the fiend had no reason to fight goldberg but they wanted that entrance for the show. I think the only thing that saved finn balor from having to always be the demon is how much time it takes to get into that costume which that was another that should be only brought out for blood feuds rather than "ehh it's mania do the special look".

Indeed. And I must add: The increasingly expressive numbers in heart-related issues after a certain period of recent history are a concerning matter. He had a minor condition that didn't bothered before, took the magic serum, it began to bother, and now he isn't here. Coincidence? There are no coincidences. It's not a statement, it's a fact based on studies that can't be linked bellow. He isn't the first, neither the last. His legacy will last for as long as we can remember. He milked stones, no easy feat.

Vince failed Bray. Bray did everything possible to give us something different. I’m a Goldberg guy. But he had his time 20 yrs before WWE bookers had him squash The Fiend, a character as nuanced as Mick Foley almost…Bray was the only real reason to watch WWE in the 20 teens. Everything else was just garbage. RIP
