@celinejesus7703
@celinejesus7703 5 жыл бұрын

In essence, the Chinese claim of being a socialist state is false. They do politically claim to be a socialist one-party system that "represents all the people", but its more of a oligarchy/dictatorship and economically it is far away from Karl Marx's ideal - capitalism is in fact alive and thriving in the country and has been for the last two decades. China is today one of the most unequal countries in the world and the gap between the top 10% and the bottom 10% is rapidly growing.

This video changed my view on vice, because as a Chinese, I have never heard anyone praising Xi Jinping like the previous people praising Mao Zedong, and I have never heard the cult songs appearing in the video. So I can easily see that this video is smeared and distorted. But for Westerners, this video caters well to their stereotyped influence on China. In addition, some English subtitles have very different meanings from the Chinese in the video. It may have been intentional.

I'm a Westerner and I personally admire Xi Jinping, a true man of law and order. And economic prosperity for all people. Had he been elected in the US, the woke media would've smeared him with crap and gotten half the country to hate him, like they did Donald Trump. Who was open in talks and had a very good relationship with President Xi, by the way.

Living in Europe, I admit it's very hard for me to know what is actually going on in China. I can just hope that the chinese people will reevaluate Mao Zedong's role and stop praising him while also gain more control over their goverment. I can just hope that they will build a better country than the western ones, a country on the way to actual communism and that they will make all the people living on Earth realise that we can all build a better world, a more fair one, for the shake of humanity.

@@eLeft6 Your username stands for great idealism, but I'm afraid China is not fundamentally different in reality from imperialism in the rest of the world. This is becoming more and more apparent over time, which is unfortunate. But the facts that are happening in China one after another are gradually proving that China is no longer a socialist country with lofty ideals.

So much chauvinism in the comments where people try to impose what they think a government "should" look like -- which inevitably imposes a Western standard on a place with totally different history, culture, and values. At the end of the day, China's system works for them: they're a world power that's soon to pass the US in influence. And since the socialist project began, they've lifted 800 million people out of poverty. In the process, yes, inequality skyrocketed, but all of the CCP's recent actions (not bailing out irresponsible corporations, jailing corrupt executives, investing in infrastructure in rural areas, etc. etc.) indicate that they are very serious about closing the gap between rich and poor. Meanwhile in the US, the government are squabbling over a reconciliation bill. The two senators who could get it passed are holding it up for no reason -- but we know it's because they're paid for by the lobby. The US literally has legalized corruption where lobbyists dictate the rules. I could go on about how 700,000 people have died from covid, and many of the ones that didn't die will be paying off medical debt for the rest of their lives. But yeah...FREEDOM 🤔

Calix Homies china only recently became rich and it was communism that killed millions into starvation. China became rich because it started using international trade, and actually drifted away from communism. It is no longer communist. It retains the name purely for political purposes as the communism party has been idolised by the Chinese people in history, not because it has been good to the people, but because if they did not they would literally be killed or sent away to slave camps.
