The Ultimate counter for every OP hero is BAN

pro tip : if you see hanzo picked by enemy team and everyone can't catch him, pick yin. you can kidnap both the shadow and main body to yin's domain. this can be used to save your mm or mage teammates if they always getting targeted and kill hanzo while at it. edit : just cast yin ultimate to hanzo shadow form when he is out hunting someone and his main body will get teleported to your domain. edit2 : it seems yin cannot do this anymore on recent patch.

Guardian Helmet is really good for Jungler Barats as first item, his passive on full stacks helps him sustain a lot of damage in the early game and stacked up with magic boots, the stun duration on you won't even be significant

Love how you use pokemon types as an example, it rly works and makes total sense xd but ofc some types have unique sets of skills to counter back the other types so always have in mind to find a way around it and kill them. About counter building, always try to build items countering the most DOMINANT enemy hero, its worthless if u buy athena shield if their burst mage is sloppy with their combos and never kills you meanwhile their marksmen is SHREDDING your team apart. Meanwhile if enemies are all equally good, try to balance out both physical and magic defense based on the enemy lineup. But ofc the most common factor is to counter build a strong enemy jungler in early game, then later change around ur build in late game over the most dominant enemy. But don’t forget, this is still a 5v5 so please TRY and TRY to communicate and cooperate with your team even in soloq and plan a strategy to take out the enemies, especially the most dominant one. Unless they’re all braindead then u just gotta take matters into your own hands, take advantage of ur newb teammates as baits and catch the enemies off guard. If you’re the most dominant on your team, try in EVERY possible way not to die because if u do, then your team would be at the edge of the cliff, so focus on positioning and map awareness.

15:30 me and my friend tested it in custom, we found out that there are some heroes that have innate defensive stats, so if the enemy has tanky heroes like fighters that don't build defense, I still recommend to build penetration. Specific test performed: full build Miya against no defense Julian Damage against creep was 900, against Julian it was 600 Once I bought malefic roar, the damage against creep got a bit over 1000, and against Julian it went up to 900, so the damage increase is much higher against hero, which wouldn't make sense if they didn't have any defense already. Conclusion: feel like you're not dealing enough damage as heroes like Miya or Wanwan? ALWAYS BUY MALEFIC ROAR, REGARDLESS OF ENEMY BUILD!

As a Lesley main, I still stand by the fact that she is a burst damage hero. Lesley with attack speed build has low damage. But with Crit, she is a nightmare.

There are items you need to know when playing. If you are a mm, most of the time your items would be windtalker, demon hunter or haas claw, scarlet phantom, wind of nature/immortality, and others. Others include Athena, Corrosion scythe, Winter treuchon (for the fast hand catches out there) or Blade of Despair If you exp, currently you should play sustain heroes. There isn’t much to say about exp items, mainly a 1 dmg item and rest all tank. Dmg item is either war axe or bloodlust axe, you can also pick others but it’s not good. Tank items could be Oracle, Dominance ice, blade armor, Athena, immor and so on. Two dmg items are also viable, but you will become less tanky. Tank and support just use tank items, pretty much same as Exp, but no dmg items. Mage use mage items. Jungler is a whole other story though. You can play full dmg or tank, but the latter is far weaker in current meta. Overall most items are repeated in the meta. Pick items that counter others, and spells like Purify, Sprint are really good in the meta, but Flicker is also a main stay.

As a Ruby main I struggle a lot against Martis, Phoveus, and Xborg. Especially Martis his dash & cc skills are so annoying 😭. Really grateful for this counter guide. Immediately clicked to watch when I saw the title xD

For me, best way to outplay every hero is to have better map awareness, to learn counter building and to always POKE them. As a mage user and a solo player, I am always countered by Athena's Shield and Radiant Armor when enemies kept dying from my skills. In order to outplay them, I would always build Divine Glaive or Genius Wand, poke them from afar, wait for Athena's shield's passive to wear off, until they're low HP and I can fully unleash my combo to easily kill them or at least make them abandon the lane causing them to lose gold and xp.

I struggle against a good Lancelot and Kagura, also a "totally not hacking" Fanny, Franco, Selena, Atlas and Yin

Personally, my counters for the heroes on the thumbnail are: Wanwan - Natalia + Suppress / CC Hero. Julian - A hero with a purify skill such as Miya, Kagura, and Diggie. Valentina - Heroes with ultimates that are usually part of a combo, such as Julian, Kagura, and Gusion. Yin: Heroes that can sustain attacks, but also can do a decent amount of damage, heroes like Ruby, Gatotkaca, and Esmeralda. Nana: In my opinion, Nana is not that much of a threat compared to others, all you pretty much need is good positioning and be aware of the map, but heroes like Wanwan and Diggie can counter her.

My tip for 5man players out there. •First, *LEARN THE META.* Your enemy will probably pick Meta Heroes most of the time, especially if you guys play in Asia Server. •Next, once you know the meta heroes, *LEARN ALL OF THEIR COUNTERS.* For example, Valentina. Know her counters and prepare to pick them before or after your enemy picks Valentina. *An example here is Blacklist vs the Amateur Team that I forgot the name for. They banned Wise's comfort picks which left him with only Aldous. And as they were doing that, they already picked Aldous' counters.* *This will be hard since you guys won't know the comfort picks of your enemy, but it's worth a try. :)*

For anyone wondering how to counter Wanwan you need a sustain hero. In my case i saw Wanwan 2 times while using Terizla and in a 1v1 i humbled her every time, while playing build with 3 dmg items and 3 def items (almost always full phys def). The reason of my success was the fact there were minions who allowed me to squeeze the shit ton of hp from them, allowing me to recover enough hp to survive her ult and then squash her like everyone else due to Terizla dmg being massive. I use BLA, WA and BoD/HS. BoD is a preference since it has 25% dmg buff for 3 sec >:) Sadly this story was before Terizla had his nerfs in terms of PASSIVE dmg reduction that allowed him to sustain like crazy and his CD of his 2nd damned skill thats his main dmg output. Rn i think hes situational but usable... Just needs a more coordinated team. His ult is still untouched tho.

For the Guardian Helmet it can be paired with Oracle so it gives more hp.

That immortality+winter truncheon is actually really smart since there's a 180s CD on immortality anyway

If the enemy has squishy late game heroes like wanwan, cecilion, moskov, and others, you can use a tank roaming Masha to smoothly 1-hit them with a full HP build. Cursed Helmet+Twilight Armor+ 3 Guardian Helmet + Dire Hit is enough for any supquishy hero without defense items to magically make them disappear.

Remember the day when we thought nana is the worst hero to struggle against? Since the Molina range nerf and as the more I play against nana, from my experience she's not annoying anymore. Btw the worst heroes I struggle against are pro wanwan and fanny users 😖 they're more annoying now

I struggle against nana and kimmy most, they're slowing abilities paired with crazy movement speed is just annoying. And literally every single mage uses sprint in this meta, so it's a nightmare to deal with them.

As a Ruby main, the hero i struggle a lot rn is Xavier, because of his long af immobilize, you can't dash to reach him (or trigger armor passive 🤬). X-Borg is also a pain to deal with when playing Ruby bcoz of his range, but luckily, he's not picked that often 😅

As a Nana main I don't have any issues with other heroes. Nana 1st skill is for poking, 2nd skill to annoy, slow, and guard against enemy heroes. 3rd skill to erase them from the map. And oh her passive makes her immortal. So all of you bow down to Nana.

I hope you can also create a guide on how to counter and outplay heroes by play style and not based on item builds. For example there are heroes who thrive well in face-to-face encounters. I was using Jawhead and had to face Xborg in my lane. Even if I just clear the minion wave and play defensive mode I still get killed in the process and this is a 1v1 situation. I tried a different strategy by ambushing him but it didn't work well too. My allies aren't ganking my lane and I struggle to defend it so should I just switch to other lane and avoid Xborg unless there are allies who would help kill him? Another example is Zilong vs Yin in exp lane. Once Yin gets his ult he just kept baiting himself near enemy turret and when he's about to die he ults and does his combo, turning around the situation. What is the best decision when matched against heroes who have bigger advantage in laning? I know smart draft picking could have avoided this situation but on classic it's random.

actually antique cuirass counters the ban hero yin, and vale's counter is to focus on his 2nd skill if he misses his 2nd skill you can easily just burst him down

I had to fight against a Julian since my team didn't ban him. The S2 ally requested Lunox so she got up. Enemy pickee Julian, I wasn't worried since I was S5 and LUCKILY I bought Baxia (the enemy had Floryn roamer btw). My core was Karina (full magic damage). We won the ranked match since Karina did a good job and my Baxia roamer countered Floryn, Julian, Beatrix and Valir too. I just felt that Baxia was the 100% way to go PRO PICK on that match considering the enemy compisition and my team's too Today's lesson: Don't ban Julian, lure your enemy into his own destruction after you pick Baxia as the last one 🥶🥶🥶 If you have the chance to be Baxia core, THEN GO FOR IT AND WIN AGAINST JULIAN

Correct me if im wrong but there is a good way to counter athena shield with out divine glave and thats by hitting them with the skill then waiting 3 seconds before bursting them down with the full combo Right?

Yeah Guardian helmet is my greatest weapon when I'm using Masha and trust me blade armour combined with Vengeance is nightmare for marksmen, except for Wanwan's ult.

Thamuz relies on his sustain, but baxia reduces his healing by 80%. 2: in the side lane, martis, hilda and paquito easily handle Thamuz because they can deal lots of damage, and escape without receiving much in return. 3: karrie , wanwan, and lylia are really good against thamuz. 4: dominance ice. 5: beatrix. Her sniper can 2 shot thamuz.

So all this time I've been reading the blade armor description wrong. I thought it was the enemies' armor and not your own. Also quick fact: Using Antique Cuirass against Lancelot 2nd skill does not fully work because he is immune at this stage. I experimented many times in practice but it seems it only trigger once because the immunity stopped at the last strike.

As an mm player I struggle ever time there's a good gusion Or franco player in the opponent team. It's nightmare when they have both. There's nothing I can do when I get Franco ult, unless luckily teammates gave him CC. Gusion burst is just too much to outlive even with magic defense. Athena shield is almost useless I've experienced more than I can count. Unless I side step his dagger there's really not much way to avoid death. So I keep saying there should be another item just like wind of nature for marksman, which immunes to any magic damage for 2 sec just like the windchant. Sounds reasonable to me.

As a Hanzo main I will say using Hilda, Natalia, Hayabusa, ling or fanny really limit you as a Hanzo and if you are good at lance and facing Hanzo lance works too
