Well this story shows exactly how spinoffs happen, AND why they're crucial for innovation. Sometimes there are spearheading ideas inside large conglomerates that don't have the strategic alignment to enable the tech spurts.

Exactly. PayPal created billions of value because of spin of from eBay. WebEx would’ve dominated had Cisco just spin it off and let them run with their own ideas. I can’t get enough of this guy’s story. A true American dream. What a role model.

His name and the Chinese currency are two different Chinese characters with the same pronunciation. This is common in the Chinese language.

No the Yuan meaning money is 元, the Yuan used in names is 袁. very different characters.
