I tell our homeless patients about you and your resources. Especially those already in cars or vans and don't really know how to make it viable but are probably going to be homeless for a while. Our county is poor and the 2 homeless shelters only hold 25 people each and one requires clean and sober. Some have friends or access to a space to build out their car so finding out they can and how is so valuable to them to make life more comfortable and long term sustainable.

I'm hoping to take my first trip in my van within the next week. I'm planning on traveling through Michigan before it gets really cold. Then, after a short time back with my family when I get back from Michigan, I'm planning on heading south and hopefully, I'll be there for the RTR. I'm both excited and a little scared to start, but I've been learning from videos and articles since the beginning of 2022 and I've been getting my van ready for the last several months. It's nothing fancy and a nothing in it is perminant. Honestly it's messy, but that's how I am. I've never been an organized person. Lately, I've been sleeping in the van outside my parent's house and sometimes making meals out of it. just that has been very educational. Hopefully, I can find some people to hang out with. I need some good friends.

The main thing is to make sure you are comfortable and don't worry about it being messy. I'm messy too. Anybody that doesn't like it can take their opinion and get on down the street.

Suanne and Bob are wonderful loving caring people. You're right the caravans help people meet, hopefully bond and if nothing else makes us feel were not alone. You folks deserve soooo much and ask for so little. Its nice to be Important....But its More Important to be Nice. Infinite thanks to Bob, Suanne, the pups and the Crew behind the Howa scenes.

Bring a six pack or a bottle of wine, a cheese ball or a plate of cookies and make some new friends. Most folks in this world are nice and just a few aren't. Trust me when a say a smile or a nice gesture and you can start a conversation with just about anyone. Keep the good stuff coming Bob.

I'm in WI Rapids, but my home I'm leaving from is in Cable , WI up by lake Superior. The warm west is stuill a dream, good luck, maybe we'll meet out there someday! :-)

So grateful I found this community and I am proud to be a part of supporting it. It is important to me to lift others up and make their lives better. My favorite part of this community and the reason I stayed? The total inclusiveness it practices, and the kindness it insists on, even to ourselves. That is gold.

Hello Bob, Your performing an essential service to the community of people living out of their cars and vans etc. There are different levels of NOMADIC LIVING. So many people young and old have lost their apartments and or home to the cost of living from renting or mortgages they can no longer afford. You have provided a roadmap to help displaced people find their way forward. While there are some mobile dwellers living in 100,000 dollar rigs pulled by 100,000 dollar tow vehicles those travelers do not understand life in a car or van who live on 900.00 a month and have no other resources beyond social security if that. I watch videos of the financially secure who travel in their elite vehicles and the organic groceries they buy for one week cost more than the resources many van and car dwellers have for the entire month. More over they appear to have no compassion for others who live in vehicles and cannot afford gas or comfort supplies or medicine or water. It's very inequitable and the housing crisis is one that is continuing to sweep across the continent. Our local governments and social service organizations need to welcome these travelers. There must be more public locations where water can gotten and batteries charged. Food banks and work banks should be expanded. The list goes on. Your thoughts?

OK this might sound a little odd, but I love the videos best where you just talk to us. Those have always been my favorite videos from you Bob. You talk from experience and wisdom, you calm us, you make us feel worthy and understood. You give us hope and advice and just make us feel better. As much as I enjoy the product reviews, please continue the videos where you talk to use like we are sitting together at the campfire together. Maybe you can even add the theme music for the intro again. Over the years, each time I heard that music at the beginning of a video, I immediately started to feel a little better.

How nice it would be if the niceness extened to thouse who want to be part of the communities, but can't drive doing living in tents. I was completely ignored once I said I don't drive, ti was like help was no longer available. But, no longer am I interested in living knowing there really aren't amenities at the BML grounds that would appeal to me. I do feel it is great for those who camp having a vehicle though. I need prefer to stay where there are bathroom and showers. Having said all of that, I still may attend the HOWA event next month with someone who will be arriviving in an RV.

After visiting Quartzite and attending the WRTR & RTR for the first time in 2024, I was amazed to find community on my first day! As a full time Canadian nomad I have found van life very solitary up until now. My hope is to try and create some HOWA like caravans on Crown Land in Canada, which I plan to announce on my KZfaq channel Chasing the Moon RV. Any advice HOWA can share with me would be greatly appreciated. 🚐🐶❤️🇨🇦

That unit sounds heavy in the event of rain, so know procedures for staying out of trouble, contingencies for when you don't. After which I understand a big percentage of the members are in automobiles with only 7 inches of clearance and skinny economy tires. Also when I down-view that area in Google maps (history), looking down I see lots of RVs

The HOWA.org website tells you the area the next caravan will be in. If you check the FAQs (frequently asked questions) on the 2324Caravans webpage you will see a long list of the suggested free camp locations. The intention of having 2 or 3 weeks between each HOWA caravan is to encourage and empower nomads to form bonds, confidence and independence in finding locations.
