I love this piece. Hanson seems so underappreciated for all that he wrote. He stayed true to his melodic roots during the experimentalist era. I hope that his musics makes a comeback. Oh, and I love Schwarz's dedication to this music! His Hanson series with the Seattle Symphony is wonderful!! Thank you for posting this!

A beautiful and profoundly emotional work. The simple rising melodies are particularly effective, and I love the uneasy and enigmatic ending.

Hanson should be played more. This his Pulitzer Prize-winning "Requiem" Symphony No. 4 is a prime candidate. All it would take is an orchestra to play it and people to listen. Shouldn't be that hard to arrange.
