There was an instance where Jackie, after putting up with Howard's relentless mocking, got a very deep shot in. Like the Pelican remark, I think it changed the dynamic between Howard and Jackie. This was when Howard was into biking, and he had taken a ride to Jackie's house (not sure which one). Howard used this to insult Jackie's home and after a few minutes, Jackie said that when Howard left, everyone laughed at what a geek he was in his bike shorts and helmet.

Howard is such a man-baby. So cringe to hear him explain his way out of this. He had a great opportunity to win over some new fans that currently think of him as a stuck up holier-than-thou figure, but they continue to be right. We've all been to a dinner at a friends house, or a restaurant even, where the service is hideously slow, but you grin and bear it and stay with your company. It's the right thing to do. Howard leaving before the main course is disgusting, but what is more disgusting is that he thinks it was fine and deflected the blame on others.

I was waiting for someone to ask Howard if him and Beth were throwing a dinner party, and god forbid, in the middle of "Saint" Beth's introductions to the desserts, Gary, Artie, or Robin got up and said they were leaving. Howard would be shitting bricks, and he never let it go. Especially if "Can do no wrong" Beth would be hurt. Artie or someone would say that Beth wouldn't approve of Howard leaving early. Then, why did she go with him? Cause at this point of their relationship, I wanna the times Beth actually said, "No" to Howard.

From Chat GPT: Leaving a dinner party early can be perceived as rude in certain situations, especially if it is a small, intimate gathering or if you are an important guest. However, etiquette may vary depending on cultural norms and the specific circumstances of the dinner party. Let's consider a few factors to help determine whether leaving a dinner party early would be considered rude: Importance of your presence: If you were specifically invited as a guest of honor, leaving early could be seen as disrespectful or unappreciative, as your presence was likely expected for the duration of the event. In such cases, it is generally more polite to stay until the end unless there is a genuine and urgent reason to leave. Size and nature of the gathering: If the dinner party is a small, intimate gathering where each guest's presence contributes significantly to the overall ambiance and conversations, leaving early might disrupt the dynamics and make it seem like you are not fully engaged or interested in the event. Prior commitments or obligations: If you have prior commitments or responsibilities that require you to leave early, it is considerate to inform the host in advance. Communicating your time constraints politely and expressing your gratitude for the invitation can help minimize any potential offense. Cultural and social norms: Etiquette surrounding dinner parties can vary based on cultural expectations and social circles. It's important to consider the prevailing norms in your specific context. For example, in some cultures or social circles, it may be more acceptable to leave early, while in others, it may be customary to stay until the end. Communicating your departure: If you need to leave early, it is courteous to express your appreciation for the host's hospitality and explain the reason for your departure. Sharing your gratitude and acknowledging the effort put into organizing the event can help mitigate any potential offense. Ultimately, leaving a dinner party early should be done with sensitivity and consideration for the host and other guests. If you anticipate needing to leave early, it's advisable to communicate your intentions politely and sincerely.
