It’s actually their guitar tech that’s been with them 20-30 years. He’s stepped in before when needed. I think that’s the only way it still felt ok. 🤘🏼

JMor954 ZZ TOP had the same guitar tech for many years, though he worked with a number of the big super groups. His name is Elwood Francis and is now playing the bass for ZZ TOP

Howard by far has the best sound engineering for all musical acts he had over the years. It doesn't matter if it acoustic set or full band, sound is always incredible. Way better than Grammys

I honestly think La Grange is the greatest guitar solo ever. It's so easily memorable and identifiable you can hum along to it and know exactly what notes are coming next even if you haven't heard it in a long time. And it's not a simple solo either

The more polyphonic instruments you add like extra guitars and keys, the more the frequency range can get crowded and instruments have to compete with each other. A power trio can have more clarity as each instrument has their own space.

I had access to a drum kit for a couple years, via a roomate, and While I play stringed instruments, this was the only song I could riff to on drums as my roomate also played other instruments. Maybe not the “fills,” but the basic part is... basic :-)

Spot on. I like how in the new documentary Billy describes him as “diligent.” Got to love the Rev, and yes, not the flashiest drummer, but always on point and in sync with Billy and Dusty.

The sound engineer for this show is phenomenal makes zztop sound even better! Same goes for the metallic videos on the Howard stern channel. Check out enter sandman if you havent heard it on there!

RIP Dusty Hill... So glad I got to see these guys a few years ago at a big outdoor festival. They jammed out so hard and I'm just grateful to have gotten to see the real deal ZZ Top!

No disrespect, but Elwood has been asked to do too much. That first night in Valdosta, ooof, he seemed really nervous , totally understandable. He literally got lost and just didn’t play at all for huge swaths of songs. Would love to see them again later in the tour. I’m sure Elwood will get his groove on . My respect for Billy is huge.

I still have my ZZ keychain from 1983 "Eliminator" era. You remember, like the one video where they handed the boy the key the keys in "Sharp Dressed Man"? I've used it for every car I've had since 1983. My first car was a 2 door 1974 Chevy Impala. And I'm using it now with my 2007 PT Cruiser, Touring Edition. 😎

ZZ Top was the first band I REALLY got into as a teen. Incredible guitar tone...Billy is just an incredibly innovative player from a tone and technique perspective. Interesting how Frank seems to play drums with his eyes closed. Just feeling the groove.
