Did this a few years ago with lads from work and absolutely loved it (first half of it 😉) trail through the valley is narrower than it looks and you've gotta watch for the peddle strikes, every rut looked so familiar, that's because you vividly remember the best rides. 👍😎 (Did the second half with a broken rear mech and so was stuck in one gear, BRUTAL 😄)

I tackled this a few years back on the wrong bike- 80mm travel, no dropper, semi slick XC tyres and clipped in. Nightmare. Eventually came a cropper on the scrubby woodland descent at 4/5 distance and broke two bones in my foot. An agonising solo limp back to Sedburgh followed by a three hour drive home and straight into A&E 😮

@TrailFinder3 жыл бұрын
If I was to ever do it again I would go the way I went. Then as soon as I hit tarmac at bowderdale I would turn around and go back the way I came as an out and back. I really didn’t like the return leg. But if you want to do the full loop I would plan it your self and not use my route. That way you could stay on tarmac as much as possible avoiding the very boring and tough field riding. When you thinking of riding it? You will love the climb screen on the 1030 plus. Lots of good info

@Gearzilla Its one of my regular local rides & as Andy says, its not gnarly, you just have to be a bit careful lower down at the start of the valley out the as theres some very steep drops with a really narrow trail right on the edge & its fairly rutted so you've to be careful with your pedals.

@TrailFinder3 жыл бұрын
Yes a huge tip. After the very long road section on the return journey. You will go back off road and come to a small farm. The bridleway is just before the farm. I want through the farm and ended up having to lift my bike over 2 barbed wire fences. You will know exactly where I went wrong when you come to it. But know you will know to just go back 50 metres to the entrance to the bridleway

If you go to 2:18 on my hero 9 vid you can see how I mounted it. It’s a GoPro tripod mount I’ve ground down to fit that helmet. The weight distribution is perfect there. I can hardly tell I’m wearing it
