Interestingly enough, there's a medical condition known as "pica" disorder, where some people may ingest non-food items such as clay, dirt, pencil shavings, etc. I won't be surprised if some people suffering from it eat eggshells as well.

Studio ghibli has some of the highest rated movies and can,to this day,compete with any animation out there simply due to the hard work and attention to detail they put into their movies. Without them,anime wouldn't be as big as it is not to mention their movies taught valuable life and moral lessons that apply in the real world.

Eh this is not one of the better studio Ghibli movies, so you're not missing too much. Which is to say, like all Ghibli movies, it's pretty. But this is just one that was famous in its own right before Miyazaki ever got to it. And he not only left out but actively changed so much from the book that made it an amazing, complex, and special fantasy story and we were mostly just left with a kind of soppy plot that didn't really make any sense. If you like reading, I'd definitely recommend the book. Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynn Jones
