Hoya nummularioides Houseplant Care - 151 of 365

This is one of those Hoyas that seem to be more pendant like and hanging, similar to the structure of a Hoya bella, but much more succulent. Hoya nummularioides comes in hot at #151 of "365 Days of Plants".
I'll be touching upon where this plant is native to, how it grows, where I'm growing mine in my home, and other basic care tips.

Hello, I give my Hoya nummularioides lots of fresh air in the summer time and it's next to a window with a southeastern exposure. This time of the year the plant reliably blooms for me, and this year isn't going to be an exception. It's covered in buds! I love the fragrance on this one. Very floral, sweet, and strong at night.

My very first non-terrestrial hoya!😍🌿 I picked her up because of her resemblance to dischidia ovata which is my all time favorite plant. Care is remarkably similar except for a much stronger light requirement.

I'm so mad at myself! I was at Lowe's the other day had it in my cart..it was heavy and full in a hanging basket for 15$$$!!! And I left it behind as I already had others too.. 😏 I ended up buying two peperomias! The Metallica and the teardrop both in hanging baskets for 10$ each.. All I can say is that the big box stores are stepping it up!!

I find that Lowe's has much better houseplants than Home Depot... I get many of my plants from them.

Our Home D in Canada had small Red Maranta's for the first time ever and they were dirt cheap, like $3 ea. I bought six.

I got one of these at a plant sale. I knew it was a Hoya but I didn’t know what type! It’s just started pushing out new growth too

I have had mine for 15 yrs and have had it in about every lighting scenario but when in South window I had a light colored curtain and it did best on my patio In west window.

Mine has done well on a trellis.. soon as I put in on it started to bloom

Mine had spider mites for a second, but all I did was wipe them off with alcohol and they weren’t an issue (on that plant 😕) anymore. I didn’t even notice any damage from them, just the specks and webbing on the leaves before I cleaned it.

I love this lady and learning about all these plants, but none of them look thriving but rather like the personification of someone (or me) when you’re reaching to make rent that month. I like funky plants, but I’m honestly curious what most of her plants are supposed to look like given the conditions they need to go. Or is this just the natural funky structure said plant topic has? Personally speaking, itd be helpful and just transparent info for her to have in these summary topic plant videos. Just even when deciding on what plants to purchase...she obviously has a green thumb but there are limits and sacrifices on expectations of plant thriving capabilities that you have to make regardless of green thumb. No shade just acknowledging ya know

Jeannie McCap Gardino Nursery (if you can catch the rarer ones in stock). Taylor Greenhouses (if you’re willing to risk a possible mislabel) Logee’s (again if you catch them in stock). But I can’t recommend Etsy enough. People sell off cuttings of plants that may not be currently propagated in greenhouses so you have chances of finding hoyas you’ve never heard of before.
