Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzfaq.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

It’s hard to justify the extra cost. Comes down to what you want I think. Both will out shoot the average person.

I just got the Torrex today and I love it little heavy when you get it decked out like drop away, sight, quiver, arrows, stabilizers but that's what you'll have when you are hunting with it

Nice video! Glad that I'm not the only that felt the draw cycle being better in the Torrex. I started to get into archery back in sep 2020 and after spending 3-4 hrs shooting different bows the Hoyt Torrex came into the top of my options ( all bows i tried out were $800 or less). I tried the new Ventum 33 yesterday since I wanted to "upgrade" my bow, but I did feel my Torrex has a smoother draw cycle. The hand shock does feel better in the ventum. But only when shooting my Torrex w no stabilizers. Once i put back my stabilizers in my Torrex the hand shock is gone. The ventum has much better feeling in terms or construction and the wall is way firmer , but Right now, i having a hard time justifying the extra money. I heard the ventum 30 feels better than the 30, so I'll try it out next week.

The Torrex XT is a good middle ground compromise that will make up some of the speed difference, comes with roller guides and is a bit smoother, but still save some cabbage over the Ventum 30 for better accessories like a Hamskea rest and nice sight of choice. The only real advantage the Ventum offers, in my opinion, is the ability to step up to 70-80# draw weight for those that want that extra speed or shoot a heavier arrow.

I’m completely new to compound bows and I bought a Hoyt Ventum 30 I thought all bows cost around 1grand so I bought it and now I’m seeing reviews of people saying it’s one of the best I still can’t believe I bought the ventum 30 as my first bow

It will do u well for decades . I have a 2008 marquis by diamond. Bowtech that I love to shoot . They stay nice for a long time . Wax the strings .

A better comparison would have been the Torrex XT vs the V30 due to listed speeds and brace height. But thanks for the comparison. Since Hoyt started making machined aluminum riser bows, they have always put out fantastic performing cast riser bows at a good price point for those without the coin: Flashpoint, Raptor Carbonite, Magnatec, Rampage, etc.

I had the Powwrmax (pre-torrex Torrex), and I sold it for a Helix because it was a “starter bow”… I regretted the decision instantly.

Liking the strings that come with the Hoyt’s . Hoyts are more forgiving ? Easier to tune is what I heard and more forgiving bows with stress tested limbs . Heck I ll shoot any bow . The one bow I really like and dont see for sale anymore used is the 2008 marquis diamond bowtech is fricken amazing . It’s kind of long and has one wide limb but she is so smooth like butter.

I've never met a car salesman who tried to sell the cheaper car either. I'm new to bow shooting but I shot both and the torrex is definitely better for new shooters who haven't gotten their shooting muscles yet. I want an rx1 but they didn't have any to shoot so I'm holding off until I can try one out, but if more expense makes it harder to shoot I may just stay with the torrex.

I shot them both 2 weeks ago, the Ventum was definitely harsher to draw, (both set at 60 lbs) The Torrex was noticeably lighter and that was important to me. I went with the Torrex and I'm glad I bought it.

Bows excite me . What can I say ? It s a good feeling to pick up a bow and know u can hot a plate @60 yards hardly concentrating . I shoot tighter first 5 shots then not as good 😖

That’s because ur poundage is set too high! If you can’t shoot 15-30 shots before fatigue then crank down a few lbs

@@reddawng43x91 Thanks red Dawn. That was last year when I first got it it took a few weeks for the muscle memory to come back but now it’s a breeze . We shot for hours the other day just messing around and having a good time outside by the woods . It’s been a really good bow . I also still like my 2008 bowtech marquis , very smooth , good sound and I just like the extra height . I take care of my bows and no one else has shot them yet . One time some dumbass picked one up and pulled back with his fingers . I was mad as hell when them strings popped off and said never again . That was 10 years ago .

I have the torrex. My only complaints are the rest is hitting the bottom vane . She said bottom vane down so. And it looks like a it would tear right in paper when the arrow comes out I can see a slight fishtail. Can it be fixed ?

The vane issue sounds like it is more likely to be the drop away timing needing to be changed. It is more than likely not an issue with your bow.

Good review 👍there is one thing I disagree this bow maybe slightly cheaper than ventum but is as good as ventum and I would not say is entry level bow ( torrex xt )just because the price tag is not over 1 k . The Hoyt Klash is entry level bow end probably better than many Poe the price. Would be nice if you do a review or the Hoyt torrex, torrex xt and ventum in range at 30. 40 .50 60 yards .but for a speed I would compare torrex xt and ventum I’m sure that in a range or hunting situation would not be any different

Idk if its my ability or how good the torrex is, but last week I bought my first compound. Went in and spent around $1000 for a torrex and some great add-ons. Ive been shooting nearly everyday until my shoulder gives out. Yesterday I was shooting around 2 inches at 60yards and roughly the same at 50. At 30 and 40 yards im just over an inch, and 20 is near same hole. Ive always been a recurve guy, so im wondering if that has conditioned me to shoot compounds really good for a beginner? Im not sure, but its been incredibly fun and I cant wait for this season.

Normally it’s just the shooter, my first time even holding a bow I was getting 2 inch groups at 20 yards and when I tried again at 20 a few months later my first shot was bullseye and my next arrow split it down the nock

Is there a big enough difference between the Torrex and the XT, that it would sway you any closer to the "budget" bow? I watched your comparison video between the 2, and you preferred the XT.

Sean McVeah at Sean out doors. Did a review and the hoyt ventum 33 came out of the box wt the top cam totally leaned over. Coming from hoyt. The review shows it Not at fan. Give hoyt 2 years to work out the bugs.

Hoyts always seem to have a cam lean problem I know mine did but it shot well and had zero problems my hoyt was from 2014 though but always hear the same thing

He saw 1 Hoyt ventum that was already out of the box and used by other people, everybody has a bad product every now and then, but his comments based on seeing 1 bow shows he has some sort of grudge or issue personally with hoyt, watching hundreds of other Hoyt bow reviews and not seeing or hearing about cam lean problems from them makes me wonder...

@@decaturridgebees8761 If I wasn't vain, I'd probably buy most bows from any American manufacturer. These days, just about everything offered is plenty serviceable and are way better than bows 20+ years ago.
