1:06 That voice crack was incredibly jarring because it reminded me that he's a human man and not an eternally powerful benevolent forest spirit

Hey, singing all day does that to your voice. Hell, singing for 15 minutes can do that depending on how conditioned you are

This is a really tricky song. High singing and he’s playing the guitar riff too. Impressive stuff.

My God he is the best live performer I have ever seen, and am old. Seen a lot! He also has the best voice I've ever heard, to my ear. He is also a unbelievable poetic and deep thinking song writers. The fact he makes his live sound better than the studio version is something very rare. He is just amazing. I wish I heard him more on radio or video. Not positive where his music goes? Not pop, not rock, kinda organic jazzy bluesy hauntingly sexy. He is OUTSTANDING SO IS HIS BAND!!!

Without autotune, because his voice is art.🌷
@kyloforshaw8400 Жыл бұрын
autotune isnt bad. its pitch correction. it just makes it pleasing to listen to. without it. you wouldnt want to listen to it. very few performers are on pitch constantly. hozier is brilliant but hes trained. dont judge performers for autotune usage. if you want to watch performers who are trained then fine but dont judge people who are not trained and skilled singers that just wanna make art. oliver tree is a brilliant artist and performer and he uses tuning and has backing tracks live. it still doesnt take away from his performance. im so tired of people shaming pitch correction. im a music production student.
@sm1th3r33ns Жыл бұрын
@@kyloforshaw8400 Everybody is allowed to make art, even those who are not particularly proficient. But it is understandable that people who want to make a living as performers (musicians, actors, dancers) are expected to be skilled at what they are doing.

This as a whole is just a masterpiece of performance, but I’m just completely in love with 1:57. The contrast of Hozier & Alex’s voices is just too much; too beautiful, too powerful. I just keep getting goosebumps help.

Lyrics (as listed in the album booklet) Honey, this club here is stuck up Dinner and Diatribes I knew well from our first hookup The look of mischief in your eye Your friends are a fate that befell me Hell is the talking type I’d suffer hell if you’d tell me what you’d do to me tonight Tell me, tell me, tell me That’s the kinda love I’ve been dreaming of That’s the kinda love I’ve been dreaming of Honey I laugh when it sinks in The pillar I am, upright Scarcely can speak for my thinking what You’d do to me tonight Now that the evening is slowing Now that the end’s in sight Honey, it’s easier knowing what You’d do to me tonight Tell me, tell me, tell your man That’s the kinda love I’ve been dreaming of That’s the kinda love I’ve been dreaming of Let there be hotel complaints and grievances raised And that kind of love Let there be damaged ensued and tabloid news And that kinda love That’s the kinda love I’ve been dreaming of
