Thanks for showing how you fix computers, I have been able to save the same machine, with a different issue (caps shorted on power side) thanks to your analysis!!!!! Sad a lot of those machines end-up in landfills for a faulty cap or MOSFET :-(

Nice PCBWay freebies!! - I really dont like those rubber strips/feet on HP and Lenovo laptops as they always seem to get stretched when removing them, I wish I could find a roll/reel of 5mm wide rubber I could cut to size and glue on after I've repaired/upgraded a laptop.

i am working on same model of laptop this week but it have some weird low cost processor and no cooler just metal plate nad 1 memory slot instead of pipes and a good processor. mine is turning on but no picture now in search for bios for it to try that first bcus its turning on charging everything cool.

Hello, you repaired so many laptops, could you please guide me: what is your opinion about best gaming laptop motherboard? which brand is the most durable components and good design for their motherboards? If you want to mention a gaming laptop brand, which brand and model would be your personal recommendation? All gaming laptops stop working as soon as they receive very little amount of static electricity on the motherboard and short circuits happen almost all the time. which brand you think has the best components and design on the motherboard that can survive shorts?

Sorin, that original resistor was probably good, it had one leg making no contact with the pad due to water damage corrosion. You have measured the over 400K resistor on a 20K scale, obviously it was shown as open. You should have tried to solder back the one leg which was not making contact. Now the laptop is not having the proper size resistor (I mean physical dimension is bigger than the original).
