Your video is quite informative and was a great step by step process. The video is what led us to buy the replacement system from LPS. With that said, it would be nice if the video could be edited (even if it's just a text overlay) stating that you no longer ship the purge print heads (or the grease or the plastic bag to wrap the returned core) as it is quite frustrating to have to reverse several installation steps to remove all of the heads, remove the air line to use the giant syringe to purge the air rather than just popping in the heads that the video shows being a part of the kit. P.S. Since a syringe would seem to be far less expensive than a set of purge cartridges, why didn't the price for the kit decrease?

There is a Air in my HP z5400 plotter's ink tube. How to remove that??? some times it prints color some time not. I find the option of purge from searching websites but i dont know, should i use it or not because there is name dummy printhead, why we need dummy printheads, why we cant use original working printheads and how to use that option. Plz Help or tell me if there is any other option for this problem

When the ink tube system is new, there is no ink them. To prime them, dummy print heads are used. They differ from production print heads in that they have a chemically treated filter in them. When the plotter pressurizes the ink it moves through the tubes to the print heads. The filter lets the air out and clogs when the ink arrives. Air in the ink tubes after priming is another issue. The dummy print heads will likely not get all the air out of the tubes because the first drop of ink that gets to the filter will clog the filter. If there is still air upstream from the the first drop of ink, it is not removed. I just bought a 1050c. It starts and gets to a point where it stops an shows the ink levels. It shows the black and it says insert. I removed the cartridge and re inserted it. It still says insert still. I replaced it and it still reads insert. Could you suggest a solution. Thanks.

It sounds like you've got a faulty connector on your ink tube system. Take a look at the gold pins that contact the smart chip on the ink cartridge. If any of them is bent or tarnished, it's not going to read the smart chip. If everything looks okay on the connector, the ink tube PCA itself may be the problem.

That error indicates the printer can't detect an ink supply valve. Start by re-seating the cable that connects to the ink supply station PCA and the ink tube PCA. If there is no change in symptom, replace the ink supply PCA. If there is no change in symptom, replace the ink tube system.

Hi Hardeep. Do not use good printheads for the priming procedure. The printhead has a small reservoir to maintain ink supply to to the print nozzles. If you print or prime on an un-purged tube system using a real printhead, the ink in the printhead will be displaced by the air from the ink lines. If the print nozzles attempt to print without ink present, they will burn out, making the printhead unusable. The best solution is to use the universal priming tool to prime the ink tube system: www.lpscomputer.com/collections/designjet-500-800-parts-page/products/designjet-ink-tube-priming-tool The priming tool is included with the rebuilt LPS 1050c ink tube systems.
