Shorting the 8.2k resistor would cap the maximum output current at around 30A

Regarding the dummy load, what material & gauge is the wire(coil) and what is the approximate length? I'm considering making something similar but instead of one long coil, make multiple shorter coils in parallel to divide up the thermal load over more wire (for high amperage... upto 100A). Thanks...

@@tinkerman4774 Nichrome 80 14 Gauge AWG Resistance Wire 0.171 Ohms/ft Nichrome Cr20Ni80 12 Gauge AWG Resistance Wire 0.106 Ohms/ft For a 12V voltage and 100A current: - **14 AWG Wire (0.171 Ohms/ft):** Need approximately 0.701 ft. - **12 AWG Wire (0.106 Ohms/ft):** Need approximately 1.132 ft.
