Hp Sprocket Using Canon Ivy paper?

In this video I'm trying out some canon ivy paper in my HP Sprocket, just to see the results and compare them. Which result do you like better? Hopefully this will help you decide if using a different paper is right for you, or maybe a different printer all together? Canon Ivy using hp paper will be posted soon!

Thank you for this very helpful video, totally frustrated with trying to purchase paper for my Sprocket 2nd edition so it's such a relief that I can use another brand, really helpful...

Oh mini life hack - no need to keep the blue sheet of paper that matches the printer brand. Just run through with the blue sheet that came in the pack. The printer will process the blue sheet, then show an error message. At which point switch off the printer, and then turn it on again. The ten sheets of paper will print out like normal.

gorpalm1 that’s good to know I’d rather just hold on to the blue sheet cause it’s nothing to it to run it through with the paper. But that’s good to know for someone who has lost theirs.

gorpalm1 Definitely a useful tip. I purchased Kodak paper and used their blue card and it gave an error message. I had to redo it with the HP blue card, which I have misplaced a numerous amount of times

Cindy Cheong The blue SmartSheet calibrates the printer for each pack of paper.

Thank you for the review, I’ve been trying to get the Sprocket 2nd edition in Mexico but it’s seem that it’s not for sale in any HP store or Amazon. I really want to know which is the best printer in the market, if someone can give me any recommendations I will really appreciate it, thanks!

Thanks for this video, can be useful if I see a very good deal on Ivy Zink papers in the future. On the colors versus your phone, never forget that phones, laptops, or any digital screen has a certain color setting too. In most phones nowadays you can change your phone to more warm, vivid, red, green, blue whatever yourself too. So what the digital photo file 'real' saved colors are are already converted into something else on your phone screen, and in something else by the printing process. Although comparing them makes sense as you often like to print in the same colors of your screen, you can't blame the printer for printing the wrong colors. Maybe it prints way more close to the photo file real colors and your phone screen is actually displaying them differently. You could try matching your phone color settings to a printed picture, and from then on every new printed picture will match your phone screen closer. If the resulting screen colors of your phone are pleasing enough to look at all day during normal phone use of course. Good luck.

Luuk Akkerman yea I don’t see why I would change my phone settings, no filters were used, but you could balance it out and adjust to get a clearer picture through the printers app and phone I see what you’re saying? 🤷🏻‍♀️ no blame on printers which you do get different colors same with the Kodak paper and lg paper and all that. Thanks for your input, but this was comparing papers without using filters just to see what you get without the use of adjusting your phone or filters in the app. 😊 some people just want to put some paper in and print. Believe me I worked in an electronics store and there’s a lot of people who just want simple my mom being one of them lol you can’t expect exact colors matching the photo anyways because of the size of the paper and such but at least my videos will help tell you which paper is closest to a regular unedited photo. @@JenniLynn Indeed. Totally true. Just shared this info for some readers who get frustrated about the color difference between screen and photo, and blame it on the printer while a part of all can be due to the screen color settings in fact. If someone wants to take time and effort matching phone with printer, or even does understand how, is solely up to them of course! thanks for the vid on using different brand papers tho. Great find.

Get an Ivy with Kodak zink paper. The best picture quality you will get!

Thanks for this! Very helpful! Although I do have one question. Can you continuously use the same HP blue sheet of paper to register different packs of cannon paper or do you always need a new blue sheet?

Mamma Snipes I have, I’ve heard a few people say though that after a while of use it wears out I guess and then you’ll need a newer one. I try to keep a couple in my planner.

I’m just wondering if I can cut my own Zink paper to the exact size from A4 sheets and use the blue barcode sheet to put them into the printer but I can’t actually seem to find any zink A4 paper anywhere so perhaps the cannon is the better cheaper choice of papers.

Mamma Snipes there’s canon zink paper, hp, lg, Kodak, Polaroid there is several to look and compare prices. Now Polaroid is probably the lesser quality color pic but with some editing it might work fine. I’ve also heard eBay had some zink paper haven’t looked yet though

Jenni W thanks, for this. I did look on eBay and although there were plenty 2”/3” zink papers, I couldn’t find any that were A4. I guess there isn’t any need for A4 size zink paper. Beautiful resin videos btw!

Hi, I have just purchased a HP sprocket plus and realised that the paper size is 2.3x3.4 and not 2x3. Do you know if 2x3 zink paper will work with it? Trying to find the cheapest alternative to buying the HP 2.3x3.4 zink paper.

The 2*3 will not work, if it did go through at all I’d say your picture wouldn’t be on there correctly possibly cropped but that’s if the printer would even load and take the 2*3 paper.

Darah Castro canon ivy I like how slim it is, and the color. Didn’t really like the look of the hp. I haven’t used the Polaroid paper yet or the Kodak, but so far I like the hp sprocket paper in the canon ivy. I will be checking the other paper too just to see which would be best.

Ivy printer + Kodak zink paper = the best photo quality you will get.

Can you run the Canon printer paper through without any bar code? I dont have any blue bar code papers for my hp but can't get my hands on any hp paper but instead found the Canon paper and want to use it. Is this possible?

It is possible but I do recommend getting a pack of the hp paper just to have the barcode for it to calibrate your printer every so often. But yes you can use the canon paper in the hp printer. But not the canon barcode because that calibrates the canon printer.

Just tried this today and it worked with the HP blue card and the Canon one. But both are printing with a yellow/green hue 😟 might just be time to retire my printer maybe cause I don't think it's a paper issue but who knows

I think I used a different blue card in a printer one time and after that my printer never worked right. The picture itself was not printer correctly on the paper had a white strip at the bottom that I never could fix lol so after that I never used a different blue barcode. Could just be a bad batch of paper you purchased? Or maybe your printer needs replacing. Idk how long they last, seems like all the paper has some kind of tone to it without editing, either a cooler tone or a warmer one.

@@JenniLynn Yikes! These printers are certainly picky sometimes hahaha. I haven't used my Sprocket in 6 months or so, I just tried reseting it so I'll see if that helps and I'll be sure to use the HP barcode again. I also have the older sprocket that they don't even sell anymore. I purchased it back in 2018, so might just be time to upgrade anyway 😅
