I enjoy these videos and they are what made me commit to HPA's courses. I have had previous experience running off brand Bosch based injectors in my L77 LS engine and noticed that over time, my Lambda noticeably changed in transition areas in my datalogs. I was perplexed at this until I took your course and understood the principles. I have since supercharged the engine and am now using ID1050x injectors and there appears to be better AFR stability over time and in different conditions. These are small things but add up to a well running setup.

It’s like having a fire hose. It flows a number. That number is displayed at the end of the hose being flow scale. Then the latency value is the fine tuning valve and the ecm is you controlling the main valve to open and close fuel. So you want 850cc of fluid coming out of the hose but when you turn it on it flows 1000ccs. Your latency values, the fine tune valve will have to have lower latency values to add less fluid so it matches the desired scale value. So now with your fine tune latency valve adjusted you as the ecm can turn the flow on and off and when it’s on it reads the 850cc and off reads 0. Now your ecm can turn the injector on and off and be calibrated to flowing the correct amount of fuel making your ecm be able to use the load compensation tables correctly.

Don’t over complicate it. Keep it simple. One thing at a time. If your ecm doesn’t not know how much fuel it’s using. Every map from here on out will be wrong. Take as much time as it takes to get your ecm and fuel rates in sinc.

i found this video while searching for a way to find injector characteristics for stock injectors. i didnt find what im looking for but i still need to learn

On my engine I have 0,55-0,65ms effective fuel pulse width with gasoline. Dead times according to specs is 1,09ms. So effective pulse time is only 35% of total pulse width. I have to keep +-15% lambda authority (correction) on idle to get stable lambda 1 on idle. How much the temperature of fuel and injectors affect to dead times?

Does fuel rail pressure effect dead time ?

yes. the higher the pressure, the higher effort the injector has to go through in order to open. that might result in a dead time variation that has to be accounted.

Well this was absolutely no help at all you literally just told people to go and buy really expensive injectors he didn't answer the question that you had in the title there has to be a way to find this. I cannot find for the life of me the dead time for oem Gen. One Hayabusa injectors.

I use headphones when watching the lessons myself so I can just focus on what is being said and take it all in. Everyone is different but it really helps me - Taz.
