It’s a bit of a lazy comparison, but how I view it is if a group of people started worshipping Neville from Harry Potter and claiming that Neville was the true chosen one and that JK Rowling was wrong about HP being the chosen one. The idea of the messiah was a strictly Jewish belief. The Torah tells us how we can know if someone is a messiah. It also tells us that if it is difficult to tell, then the sages will declare them a messiah or not. God gives them the power to declare who is or isn’t a messiah. So you essentially have the people who have the power and authority to declare someone a messiah or not saying Jesus is not a messiah, and then non Jews telling Jews they are wrong about their religion. To be honest, it’s pretty insulting.

@@wb3731 The original disciples were still Jewish in that the followed the Torah and did not worship Jesus as being God. No were in Mathew, Mark, or Luke do they ever claim that Jesus claimed to be God. There’s a big difference between believing Jesus was going to be their new King and deliver them from Roman rule, and believing that Jesus was actually God and that he was a human sacrifice. It was not until Paul that Christianity became a separate religion and that Christians started believing in the idea of human sacrifice and that Jesus was part of a trinity with God. Yes, Paul seems to be Jewish, but he rejects practically everything about Judaism. He rejects the Torah and rejects major beliefs of Judaism.

Well I got to say I wasn't born an Atheist. Though I don't remember when I was born but I do remember when I was 1 year old so close enough.
