He visited my base in 2002, out in Afghanistan when it wasn't cool for the Hollywood elites. He was that funny too, and very appreciated by us troops. He will be missed.

I can verify, as a Marine vet, this whole soundtrack was played in the barracks multiple times. While the average joe would get some of these jokes, it takes veterans to truly love them in a special way. "ANYTHING JUST PLAY IT LOUD!! OK!!!!"

Robin Williams still had a lot of comedy and improvisation left in him. It’s been five years since he passed away. I sure do miss his brand of humor, and him as well. And so does everybody else.

Years from now, we will be able to tell stories to our grandchildren about how we saw "that legendary comedian Robin Williams" live at a concert. Or on a USO tour. Or on television. Or seeing one of his movies the first time it came out. The world has lost a unique comedian, actor and person. And I use the word "unique" precisely.

Amazing thing is that he riffed most of the movie...the director said there was no real script for Robin...he just gave Robin a basic theme for each scene, and let him go...

I always think that this (and possibly Good Will Hunting) showed Robin Williams at his versatile best. Love the lines in this clip: "This whole camouflage thing for me doesn't work very well...because you go in the jungle, I can't see you, it's like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want you do something different. You know, you go in the jungle, make a statement. If you're going to fight 'clash'!"

This movie was released the year my Dad died. My parents were married just shy of 22 years, and my mom wasn’t ready to go places on her own after his demise. I tried to get her out of the house as much as possible, but she was alone at 43 with two kids away at college. The adjustment was enormous for us all. The two of us went to see this, and I fondly remember going as part of our return to normalcy. Thanks Robin for lightening the mood for an afternoon. Your humor made a very difficult year a little less painful. Rest well in peace ✌️

There is no doubt he will forever be remembered for his comedic genius and heartwarming performances. Tragically, Robin died by suicide in 2014 at age 63. The event shook the entertainment world and caused millions of fans to grieve for the loss of such a beloved actor and human being who brought so much humor to the world. What many people do not know is that depression was not the underlying cause of Robin’s suicide-rather, it was a little-known brain disease called Lewy body dementia. In the last year of his life, Robin experienced a startling pattern of behavior. His friends, family, and film colleagues could tell he was not himself as he began exhibiting symptoms like confusion, forgetfulness, paranoia, hallucinations, anxiety, personality changes, and difficulty with movement. Robin could tell something was wrong, too, but he did not know what was happening to him, why it was happening, or how to stop it. Robin and his wife, Susan Schneider Williams, sought help from numerous medical specialists, but were unable to obtain a correct diagnosis before his untimely death. After his death, an autopsy revealed advanced stages of Lewy body dementia, a less common form of dementia that affects an estimated 1.4 million people in the US.

Cannot believe I haven't seen this movie yet. Have been obsessed with this scene for the past couple of months considering a guy I know kept shouting "GOOOOD MORNING VIETNAMMM". I'll absolutely need to see it soon. RIP Robin Williams.

I absolutely loved Robin in this show. I was in country in 1970-71 and I remember the radio shows. I listened on our battery operated AM/FM radios we got from home out in the boonies daily. It helped me to get through that god awful war being a combat veteran myself used to seeing action nearly daily. I sometimes would crank up my my radio volume of Armed Forces Radio Network playing R&R while riding off into battle more than a few times. That seemed to help make combat a little more less stressful.

I listen to him every day in country, this movie brings back memories.

Robin Williams was the best imrpov performer I've ever seen. I mean, he prepared a lot in advance, but I'll be damned if it isn't difficult to detect which is which in that scene! That kind of talent and work is so rare, and I don't think I'll see anyone that funny again in my lifetime. He truly was a master of improvisational comedy!

My parents got the soundtrack to this movie when I was a kid, which contains a lot of Robin's radio segments as well. Most of the jokes sailed majestically over my head but it was still the funniest thing I'd ever heard.
