For me Hungary and Netherlands deserve S tier. 1952-54 Hungarian team is super underrated. And Netherlands was crazy good everytime they reach a final. I would say Costa Rica also because they shocked the world in 2014, but they probaly not on a same level as a world cup squad.

Algeria’s 1982 performance is underrated not because i’m algerian but that year they won against a powerful west germany and was going to the round of 16 but austria and germany played a boring match so they can both go basically throwing it away , and from that time all last group games are played in the same time so no other conspiracy’s happen 😅

The backstory about bulgarias run in 94 was that in 93 we scored a goal while the ref was blowing his whistle against France which meant we qualified but France didn't so the ref was determined to make bulgaria loose to Italy and who knows had the ref not been french Bulgaria could have been S tier.(we finished 4th cos back then if you where 4th you still got a bronze medal). (The ref didn't give a obvious handball which would have given us a pen).😢😢😢

I would have rated Northern Ireland on their 1982 World Cup rather than 1958. It's difficult because in '58 they went straight into an out and out knockout quarter final whereas in '82 what could best be described as a quarter final round consisted of three team groups. I give '82 the nod over '58 because in '58 they progressed after a play-off, whereas in '82 they won their group, derailing hosts Spain's world cup on the way by sending them into a group of death with England and West Germany while Northern Ireland faced France and Austria in what looked a slightly more favourable task. They drew 2-2 with the Austrians and their game with France was effectively a winner takes all quarter final. History repeated itself from '58 as a strong French team swept an injury hit Northern Ireland team aside to progress to an infamous semi final against the Germans.

Indonesia at the World Cup was so awful. The closest time they qualified for this biggest stage was 1986. They lost to Korea Republic on a second to last rounds of AFC qualifiers. But with U-17 World Cup taking place this year in our country, as well as the fact that they had won SEA Games football tournament with some young prospects and the expansion of World Cup format itself to 48 teams, we still had a slight chances.

I think Iran's run in 2022 was even better than in 2018, even though they lost 6:2 to England, but their win against Wales was miraculous in my opinion and against the US in the final match they were very close.

I think ranking my country (🇨🇲) in B-Tier is fair, despite how I feel about our exit in the Quarter Finals, but I'd also like to shout out my countries performance in 1982. We left the tournament undefeated drawing with eventual tournament champs Italy and Third place team Poland.

Germany had an absolutely insane striker by the name of Gerd Muller who would be the owner of most goals in a world cup for decades until it was a snapped by Ronaldo Nazario. And Brazil literally had the greatest team to ever exist at that very moment in time. Pele, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Tostao, Carlos Alberto. You could argue that Italy's run in 82 was better than 06. Although their group stage resulted in 3 draws, they went on to beat Argentina, then Brazil (Rossi hat trick), then a powerful Poland, then West Germany.

Personally i think our best run was 2002 where we beat Portugal Mexico in the round of 16 and lost to eventual Winners Germany in a very close match
