I like that boji mom acknowledges her mistakes and tries to fix things it's a nice change of pace from the many stepparents that hate their stepchildren in fiction

SPOILERS: All of them, eventually, but it's "new" how he still loves Bojji, just thinks the younger brother would be better for the kingdom. But I really loved how they presented the step mother in the later episodes, how she loved him from the start, and such, just that some thoughts changed her mind about the succession. But even then, she loved Bojji, and would've done everything to take care of his welfare with his disabilities. Thing just is, he didn't need it... and it's the rest of the story.

One thing I love about this series is how almost none of the characters end up behaving like you would assume from their design. Characters whom we would assume are malicious towards Boji are actually trying to keep him safe and vice versa. It makes for such a great and refreshing series. Can't wait for the next season. Also I'm not the authority but I do think this is some of the best representation of a disabled person and how it isn't their disability as much as it is society's refusal to accommodate that limits their capabilities.

If i remember correctly the main writing idea the show goes for is "people aren't inhertly evil" so every person has some redeeming quality or has reason't for their ideals and effects. Basically they're human.

"In this world, kingdoms are ranked" This is so typically Japanese. I don't mean that as a bad or good thing, but we can all admit that it's a recurring trope in Japanese media, right? Everyone and everything is ranked. It's an oddly specific recurring theme. I wonder why that is. I am a C-tier Weeb, so I hardly even count, is there any higher-tier Weebs out there that can shed some insight on this quirk of Japanese culture?
