@@Josh-rn1em Well Vive Pro 2 is definitely better for games and of course you can watch movies and anything on it. But you need a powerful PC to enjoy it to the maximum. You can't use it stand alone without it. That's the benefit of Oculus.

@@JONminiminiME Had it a couple of days now. Pretty happy with it so far. Haven't tried too many games on it yet just Beat Saber and Skyrim. My psvr crapped out on me about a year ago, not that I used it all that much, the vr sickness was very apparent with psvr I found. It only took me a few hours to get my vr legs with the vive and I barely feel any discomfort at all when using for extended periods of time.

Its an amazing headset. Im using the vive pro 2 since launch and it does need Some getting used to but when you get used to this headset its an outstanding experience. The FOV is really wide even wider than the index the resolution is stunning and the colours are great the refresh rate is also really nice.

I don't know if u have ever used a PCVR HMD before but I have the Index & Quest 2 and I can say that the Index is just better rlly. I get why the Quest 2 is nice and all, but $850? If u have the PC just go w/ the Index or HP Reverb G2. (Reverb is lit $400 wtf that's insane). The idea of an All-in-One VR headset is more just people who don't have the PC, which is fine I understand. But the experience w/ PCVR is unmatched and will be probably forever.

​@@bluestscrew7833 the hp reverb g2 just does not seem worth it given its very limited tracking, generic controllers, and how the only thing that appeals to me over pretty much any other modern headset is the speakers being the same as the Index, and as someone who has owned a Rift S, Quest 2, *2 Indexes* and a Vive Pro 2, the Index has the worst durability I've ever seen on any VR headset from the headset itself to the controllers and even the cable. if your link cable breaks with a quest 2 from very heavy and careless usage you spend $80 for another cable, if your Index cable even starts to break from literally just using it actively for less than a year you have to pay like $110 for a new tether, $5 for a new clip, and $115 for a new headstrap if the part that keeps the cable in place snapped off. I agree that the Index is a better experience especially given it's like that out of the box, but for $150 LESS you get a headset that should last years given how indestructible the Q2 is with a negligibly worse experience once you're used to it rather than a $1000 headset that after under 1 year of active usage had a broken headstrap, a cable showing signs of failure, and after roughly 10 months of having the replacement Valve gave me the cable actually did fail, my headstrap was in even worse condition, both controllers are broken in some way with neither knowing when my thumb is on the joystick and both developing horrible drift... it's honestly much more worth it to just mod the quest 2 like this guy did and spend the extra $80 to get a link cable (or less for a third party one!) and still be $70 under for something that will last much, much longer

@@MidnightNachos Wow uh, didn't expect that much from that, but what if u used index controllers w/ base stations (using the HP Reverb)? Also I've never had any problems on the Index it depends on what games u play and the care u give for your headsets. Mine is still basically mint after 2 years because I always clean every part with isopropyl alcohol and so far no issues. I would also like to say that all electronics are different compared with games. Tbh high intensity games w/ a lot of movement is not really suited for PCVR rn because of that cable and weight. It just depends on what u do.

@@rune_lol i've had it for like a year and a half and it's still really good but my left controller ended up getting stick drift. Also the headset can get really uncomfortable after long play sessions but overall it's a really good headset

Vive pro 2 beats it. G2 is good for simulators but vive pro 2 so much better with tracking and no heavy software of HP needed other than steam. Black levels of vive pro 2 were better too. It would be easy for me to justify g2 better because i bought it later but i really cannot.

yes it does reduce your experience but if you play games with simplistic looks or smaller areas like gorilla tag beatsaber or super hot but on these games you usually find yourself bumping into your furniture

Similar but stay away from wired VR it's just not a good experience. I was an early buyer of the Vive and hated the wire with a vengeance due to constant tripping and tugging on the head and ended up selling it. Now with the Quest 2 despite the dull colours and loweish resolution it's just a great experience. Will never go back to any VR that's wired. VR should never have you tied to something it should be free movement.

I have og vive and quest 2. And quest 2 is awesome!!! I love the vive but the portability, ease of use, and wireless makes quest 2 way better at times. The res bump on quest 2 is pointless as all the graphics are blurry, it's like smearing vaseline on your 4k oled TV, yeah its 4k but a smeared 4k. They should have kept the same quest 1 res or even lower like 1200p as the 1st rift and vive had so graphics are not a blurry mess

also the mic is garbage

its genuine 5k, the first of it's kind, the resolutions simply are not comparable as using a Vive pro 2 would be akin to putting on glasses for the first time.

Well obviously lol if you are already a person with a gaming pc and a headset like the vive, obviously it’s gonna be a very different experience for you playing the quest 2. The quest 2 is an all in one, meaning it’s best for people who don’t want to have a gaming pc or an external console system to play vr, they wanna just be able to hop on, play a few games and pop off.

@@TechMaestro01 basically turning a circle slightly into a rectangle. It's not mind blowing and you can't use the fov anyways because moving your eyes off center is a blurry mess. Pimax headsets have the wow fov but in the end you still have the same problem where you have to keep your eyes dead straight. Although on pimax you could wander your eyes ever so slightly without getting blurry.

Playing Super Hot in my living room and literaly rolling on the floor to avoid bullets with wireless Quest 2 is something sooooo incredible. And for the price its incredible. Quest 3, even if double priced will be the next choice no doubt.

I have vive 1 and quest 2...cable is a huge issue for many games that actually have you moving quick and arena fighting. I love the vive and play many many games around cable, but you begin to always play the game around the cable like half steps, 180 degree turns vs 360 etc. I didn't realize how much I had to do until I noticed I kept doing unnecessary moves on the quest 2, I then realized cables do make a huge down grade l, but the fidelity of pc VR is soooo much better

@にじか hey dude, imagine playing a game on your pc, the graphics are direct from your gpu to your monitor and you view through that monitor that’s what you get with a wired headset like the vive. The quest 2 only allows you to play it’s limited hardware standalone or via pc, when done through pc (even with a wire) it sends a stream of video instead like google stadia but instead of over the internet it’s over WiFi from your pc. Streaming video has flaws such as discolouration, buffering quality drops, artefacts and latency occasionally or if you move out of your wifi hotspot, haven’t got a great wifi 6 connection etc, it cann ruin the experience sometimes. Some people can’t tel the difference and others don’t mind it, it does the same wether it’s wired via usb or wireless. Oddly enough I’ve just ordered another quest 2 today, they are great little headsets but depends what your used to, it has its pros and cons compared to a proper pc wired headset. One of my biggest niggles as well as the video streaming part the fact that it’s a lcd panel is annoying, unlike my vive which is oled, the quest 2 (and a lot of the newer pc headsets tbh) use led and aren’t great on really dark game scenes because they are washed out with greys due to poor blacks… horror games like affected, paranormal activity, visage are kind of ruined by this. What it makes up for is wireless is great, the tracking on it was impressive, it has almost no screen door and is higher resolution than most top end PC headsets. If your thinking about ordering one I’d say do it, you can always send it back if you don’t like it.

@Watching KZfaq Daily I know exactly what you mean I ended up buying another quest 2 and still have it. I love the wireless ness but things about the quest 2 are really annoying me lately. 1) I’ve setup my Wi-Fi 6 router perfectly with it but still struggle with playing pc games because it’s blatantly a video feed and no matter how hard I try it always suffers from latency issues the feeling isn’t on the same league as a proper pc wired headset which is so fluid and smooth in comparison I find I mostly use my q2 for headset only games using it’s low spec processing which once you’ve played of on a pc wired headset it quite a considerable drop back! 2) this is my biggest gripe - the casting is. Temperamental and almost pointless. Whenever I get someone playing it and they get stuck or are unsure what to do, unlike pc where you always have the monitor to guide them the cast feature is hit and miss to the point I don’t even bother nowadays giving any one external a total disconnect from that person playing vr - this isn’t mentioned nearly enough. 3) I was really happy when oculus put a brightness control on it as on minimum it really helps with that grey glow being an lcd but honestly it’s still basically pointless for any dark scened games. I’ve got it where my niece and nephew always ask to play something scary and they are fine playing scary games on the q2 they wouldn’t dare play on the vive and it’s obvious it come straight down to those poor blacks on the quest making a huge difference and feeling of immersion being destroyed due to the lcd panel. I am really considering selling it tbh and getting a vive pro but I think I’m gonna struggle with the wire again now tbh

@@MavenProductions247 I have quest 2 and I connect it via original link cable to the pc and I don't have any lag or quality drop when I play pc vr games. may be your cable is defected or you have defected headset. mine is perfect .I also tested the steam vr games and I don't have any problem with it. the lcd is a little let down for me. I wish they use oled on this headset. but overall considering the price the quality of lcd is really good and this is a really good headset.

I play a lot of beat saber, I found the tracking on the quest 2 very good, is the lighthouse tracking has good as the quest 2 ? Or better ? (With the 2.0 base stations)

Not even close. The only Pimax that compares with the Vive Pro 2 is the Pimax 8KX. The 5K super is better than the Index and the Quest 2 however.

The "cooler" experience to me is always with the Quest 2. Everytime I put on the headset I'm amazed I'm getting 95% of what the PC tethered headset guys get for pennies in comparison.
