Great reaction. It's not hard for Hua to get to that emotional place. He has been through incredibly lonely, abusive, confusing times since childhood. He is also very sensitive and introspective. He questions the purpose of human existence and his own sanity in his music, which reflects his life experiences. It is hard to deal with this world external and internal and all its challenges and contradictions. He doesn't have to try very hard. The emotions pour out of him, they are right under the surface. His performances are so genuine, relatable, raw, original, unique and mesmerising. Brilliant.

It will be interesting to see how you take to Hua-Hua’s Fake Monk - that performance took my breath away and struck deep at a lot of people’s hearts. Or Cancer which is a lyric-less song - from what I understand, his renditions are never quite the same but the performance… just kills you. HuaHua’s vocal talent, creativity, artistry and sensitivity makes him one of the best performers in the world in my book. His Child, Ordinary Path, Miles Away From Loneliness and I Really Want To Love This World are among my all-time favorites in my playlist.

Great reaction. Hua Hua is amazing! 🥰 You should check out some of his own songs like "Seven Personalities" or "Qi Tian". I also like his music video "Conversations with Martian Children (ET)" a lot. There are many great performances by him and he sings in many different styles. For a performance coach his "Fake Monk" arrangement is a must watch.

Hua Hua is a beautiful soul and when he sings he is lost in the song. Sometimes he might be having fun, like when he's singing together with Martians (his fans) but in an interview a few years ago, the interviewer asked him what he sees when he's singing and he said "Nothing. Just black. I might be looking right at you but I won't see you sitting there." And his music....there is no specific genre that is Hua Chenyu. He can do everything and he does it well. If you follow him you'll see ballads, rock, rap, reggae, Broadway.... there are no limits. I really hope to see more reactions to him from you! If you're looking for something similar to this then I would recommend (So sorry Patty) Dad I'm Home and Fake Monk. Generally most of us don't recommend these two songs right off because people might think everything he sings is deep and sad but there is a presence about him when he sings these two songs that you don't really see in other artists so I'm only recommending them to you. LOL

What you have seen was just a small fraction of this talented youg man. He is very popular in China and his concerts are sold out within minutes. The song "Fake Monk" might be something you like. I would love to hear your opinion about it as performance coach. The start of Hua Chenyu's career was very interesting. He sang a song without lyrics, just producing sounds while playing the keyboard. To quote from the cpop-fandom website: "Hua entered the Super Boy competition in 2013 and on his first appearance, sang an original compositions, known as "Lyricless Songs", catching the attention of judge Laure Shang who praised him for being able to intuitively express emotion through music. This performance was also what gave him the label of "Martian", due to his unique expression through the lyricless song. He passed the first round of auditions and eventually went on to win the Championship of 2013's Super Boy.". An excellent reaction to Hua Chenyu (HuaHua for his fans, means flowers). Hua Chenyu is one of the top composers/performers in China, apart from studying music, he also studied stage design, so he will always design his performances carefully. HuaHua is more of a rocker/rapper but he is one of the best actor/singers, never fails to convey his emotions whether he rocks, raps or sings beautiful ballads. Ow, i noticed u are a performance coach, so u will like a looot Hua Chenyu, and Diana Ankudinova too, since u seems to love Lara Fabian! All those are totally in character while singing! For me his most emotional performances are "Dear Friend", "Fake Monk", "Exaggerated" and some others that are not my style.

In the world of music, he's the best performer I've seen. He's also a cast member on a comedy show. That he openly did a side-eye in front of the camera, and didn't suppress it or hide his face, was partly because of his comedic training. Please do more.

It's a rearrangement, not his on story but equally emotional and often listed as the saddest song. You will have to watch it from the show it was on. Try typing Hua chenyu The Next S2 Ep 8. His performance is from 1:01:36 - 1:08:43. Or I'm sure people have suggested "Fake Monk" - that performance is not even performance art, it's an experience!

Thank you for your reaction, it was really really sad, and very heart breaking, but this song also has a story of him, about his past lover. He dedicated this song to his ex gf, who left him without saying a word in 2018. The girl hide his pregnancy to Huahua. Huahua didn't know about her pregnancy, Huahua did his best to contact her, find her but the girl ignore him. After a year, she cameback in 2020 and told Huahua that he has a daughter with her. Then Huahua suddenly surprised. Bichen (also a singer) said that, her plans is not to tell Huahua about her pregnancy, and leave her own life with her daughter. But after a year, she realized what she's done, and took the right of a child to see her father, and Also to Huahua. January 2021, Fans are shooked about the spreading news, that Huahua and Bichen has already a child. And Huahua admit that. He said that the child, healed him, and he is very happy that he has already a father. (late 2018- early 2019, Huahua had a depression that time and try to took his own life) that's why Huahua said he is healed because of the child's arrival. Then suddenly bichen followed up the post on weibo and said that Huahua didn't know about it. She admit that she made her decision with her own and never told Huahua anything. Bichen also said that huahua's eyes are full of happiness when finally met his own child. And Huahua took his responsibilities and immediately registered the Child with his name (Hua). I suspect that he is actually referring to his mother. She died from cancer in 2021, or late 2020.
