Wat Huay Mongkol (Huay Mongkol Temple) is a must-see temple in Huahin, originally called "Wat Huay Khot". It is famous for its humongous statue of the legendary southern Thai monk, Luang Phu Thuad, who live for a hundred years (1582-1682).
The temple is quite far from the town but worth the visit. You can get there by renting a motorcycle, like what we did. It would take around 20-30mins depending on your speed. There is no public transport to access the temple. You have to hire a songtaew or tuk-tuk from Huahin.
While you're there, you may also visit the 2nd temple on your way back.
