Huawei HarmonyOs - Google and Apple Should be WORRIED NOW !!

Hey guys,
So, With the support from the Shenzhen government and Huawei’s efforts, the HarmonyOS could become a strong competitor globally, and this is an alert for Apple and android, they should be worried now, because there is no doubt that china is one of the largest smartphone market globally, and by doing this, they are openly telling that, they only wants huawei to rule in china, Huawei already dethroned apple in the Chinese market, Apple’s sales in china is continuously decreasing and now it looks like the time for android is also coming.
What are your thoughts?

@@ronnyajay1169 i am using huawei Mate 40 pro and there's still no harmony OS coz harmony OS is only for mainland china as of now. global user's are expected to get EMUI 14 which has the same functionality as harmony OS 4. you should consider that global market still rely on 3rd party apps to install some apps, they didn't release the harmony OS globally yet coz it will not support 3rd party apps to install apps, they remove that in harmony OS 4 that's why it's only in china coz china didn't rely on Google service ever since. releasing the harmony OS 4 globally will make users angry coz it will not have an alternative apps for us to install the apps that we're using now.

Because global users are complaining about lack of android suppport for Harmony OS Next so Huawei has to pacify them with EMUI 14/ Harmony OS 4 temporarily. Next will launch in China first to gain momentum.

Android is free, so there is no incentive to "bring down the price". It is not the OS you are paying for, it is the hardware. Google makes enough money gathering your data. You trust a Chinese company to do that that is known to have ties with their government, have at it, it's not like Google doesn't share data with the US government, but better the devil you know....

The last time I checked Harmony o/s had a market share of 8% in 2023 so 16% in Q1 2024 is a big increase.

PRC should now imposed that all smartphone Manufacturers will have a HarmonyOS NEXT smartphone division through Huawei’s OpenHarmony. Huawei will now have a full control of AppGallery where they can charge up to 30%. Huawei will become the new Apple Inc in Asia.🎉🎉🎉

The only advantage for android was the amount of apps and support out there for it, if the harmonyOS can take over the Chinese markets, it could very well challenge the dominance of android and ios.

Given Huawei's shift to HarmonyOS Next and its departure from Android, I'm concerned about compatibility issues. Will I still be able to use Google Drive, Google Meet, and Gmail with HarmonyOS Next? Those apps are what my peers use for collaboration.

From my personal experience: Harmony OS is still not very stable right now, but possibly because the software that we normally use were designed to be more suitable for Apple and android. though for android compared to Harmony OS, it is much better.

This would be the real answer to US sanctions. Possibly in the near future when all Chinese brands start Harmony Os,oh my God the real fun will start. Is there any update of launching of Harmony Os globally?

If and its a big if Huawei can get harmony os using all the big name apps un Europe and usa then they could get the big names onboard with it could be a big challenge for apple and google. I personally would give it a go. I don't use Google services including Uber gsuite ect. Only things i use is ware os but can replace that and google wallet but agian can reply that. My maps are here music is spotify and business apps are Microsoft

There's no Google on China atm. If Huawei HarmonyOS is opened to all phone makers, soon all Chinese brands will change to HarmonyOS and half of the Samsung will go to HarmonyOS. It is a big deal more than just phones. The EV or even all IOTs will probably make api to connect with the HaromyOS ecosystem too.

@@cwd5736 I've used to have the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, it was amazing, then gave it to my mother and she's still using it till this day and working from it. It was a great phone. After the Mate9 Huawei really pushed the things to the next level. Sadly the US/ EU killed them here. They've used to have top tier service and official repair shop, now is just a shadow. My boss has the Matebook laptop and was looking for some change of the USB ports, the repair shop didn't even bothered to reply to the emails where we request simple proforma invoice. After the mate i went to iPhone and now on S23 Ultra... The samsung's software is less polished than Huawei's for sure and much more buggier, especially the camera and gallery apps. Huawei just have no competition amongst the Androids.

I have been living in US for more than 40 years. i would say all of US companies have competitors. i am sure Apple and Google would welcome to have one more competitor. Competition is running fiercely. Sun Micro, S3, AOL, Silicon Graphic were disappeared. there will be another company rising up killing apple, google. That company is not Huawei. I play basketball with a group of 30 guys. only 1 of them uses Samsung. the rest is using iPhone. my 2 sons used to have SAMSUNG. they decide to switch to iPhone. I asked them why? they said iPhone has more apps. you see. it is not about OS. it is all about APPs. if you open apple app store, there are countless apps you can install for free too. Unbelievable. why should you want to switch to Harmony OS? is there reason?
