Steps:
Step1 Power off and take out the SIM card tray
Step2 Remove the back cover
Step3 Remove the motherboard
Step4 Remove the Loudspeaker and charging port
Step5 Remove the battery
Step6 Test the new battery
Step7 Install the new battery
Step8 Put back the back cover

I changed the battery following your video's steps and everything ok. Only thing is that now when I charge it, it doesn't. It keeps restarting with the white logo and the light charging dot at the top doesn't turn on. Which piece should I order, please? We are still in phase 0 and I have to repair it myself. Thanks in advance.

@George Bonak unfortunately, not, but I'm clumsy. I've sent it to be repaired. I just didn't connected the cable from the battery to the phone, at the top. I felt really embarrassed when he did it and said "it's just this".🙈😂

Thank you! Maybe a couple things missing/ different on my huawei BUT followed and have successfully replaced a swollen battery that came with the phone originally. Fingers crossed it now is plain sailing. Phone is back together and working.

I bought this phone used and 1 year old. I love the phone and it is amazing but I would like a longer battery life, when I saw that a battery costed just $20 I wanted to change it but after watching this... FUCK NO!

I'm gonna have to try this as my battery is bulging. Phone is 3 years old and still great apart from the battery having obviously reached end of life. And I'm not paying someone like 50 pounds when I can just buy the battery and do it myself.

Cuz i currently only have like some radio screw drivers and stuff like that :/ else i need to wait a while longer dont want to have The Phone burst into flames :)

did anyone find the solution according the above issue? I have the same problem. My phone for the first 1 second looks like is charging but after that nothing. The data transfer is working with no problem through usb. is not charging.

Im using huawei p20 and DANG is it awesome! It has amazing camera its very fast and boi is that battery never going to end i can watch netflix or yt for entire day! I think its going to be one of phones that will never get old. Oh and btw i really like how Huawei updates it almost every update adds something that makes the phone better, the only thing is that it doesnt have stabilisator for recording 4k But i have bought gimbal, also i hope they will make new update adding it, nice video

You have taken a simple battery replacement and made it unnecessarily complicated. None of the lower components need to be removed to make the change.

hello, I don't agree with you, most of the steps here are done to protect the phone and we don't recommend the rough disassembly method.

I completely agree... as I am watching the video I am thinking to myself why on earth is he removing every component from the phone when all that is necessary is removing the board frame that is attached by 9 screws. There are other videos that show how this is done which will make this much easier for anyone that wants do this in a much more simplified manner. you're welcome ✌
