Ive been in dilemma of whether to buy the P40 Pro, P40 Pro Plus or even P30 Pro as I use a lot of Google services Gmail, Gsuite, KZfaq etc but looks like tase are easily transferrable via clone 2 app or Petal or something similar Huawei have. The P40 Pro Plus currently comes with a Free wireless charge (nice!) and a free GT2 Huawei watch but is it worth the extra £400 in UK..I'm undecided between the 2, ideally the size of P40 is fine for me, Im wondering how a heavier phone will feel, Im currently using an ancient LGG6 or HTC 10 (as love music) -Any comments on the sound with headphones and these? does it have built in amplifier and stereo speakers? inserting an extra cam is useful because currently the p40 pro does not always "reason" correctly. In many cases the zoom is only a crop of the main cam, the actual zoom only intervenes in some cases.Huawei has adopted the Xiaomi mi 10 pro solution which in magnification up to 10x has a better result.

Both versions are more than excellent, but Huawei P40 Pro plus with 7 cameras: 100x SuperZoom 10x Optical Telephoto zoom 3x Optical Telephoto zoom 20x Hybrid Zoom It can not be compared with any smartphone in 2020. Really it is the Supreme Commander for all smartphones in 2020 and blows the mind. Up to this moment, all smart phones have no 10x + 3x optical zoom beside the 100x digital zoom and 20x hybrid zoom.

Awesome comparison man, have been eagerly awaiting for you to get your hands on the p40 Pro plus to see if it worth getting over the p 40 pro. I decided to just go with the normal p 40 pro. I think it's worth mentioning however that just because you have 100 times zoom it does no mean that you have to go all the way to 100. Its great for getting better quality 30 and even 50 times zoom.

How did you install google play store and services on the P40 pro? Most tutorials i watched give me an error when i click on the big blue G logo.

Is the P40 Pro Plus still on pre-production software? Because the zoomed photos were basically the same as the P40 Pro, when they are meant to be twice as clear when zoomed in at 10X and beyond, right? For the record, clearly everything beyond 30x is for bragging rights, and probably for some very well lit and defined objects like signs, text on buildings etc.

I'm going for it after Xmas.

I am a bit dissappointed by these images of the zoom. I was expecting a big improvement but i dont see much difference with the p40 pro in 50x and 100x. I am still using my p30 pro and think i will keep it for a while.

I want to get the Pro+. Can someone please answer the following: - can Pro Mode be used with all lenses? I'm interested in manually adjusting ISO and exposure while shooting video with the 3x and 10x lenses in particular. - can I turn off all post-processing? I have Galaxy S10 and the default camera app ruins the output - yellows get boosted, edges sharpened etc. - are third party camera apps allowed access to the 3x and 10x lenses? I don't want to just use the default Huawei app. - can I use the flash LED as a flashlight while shooting video? - how does the mic fare at loud indoor concerts?

@10:23 Didn't you mistakenly swapped the photo between P40pro and P40pro+? The photo on the right side (allegedly P40pro only) looks sharper than the left. Or is it just the vibrance fooling my eyes?

its not always a matter if you wish more apps in a appstore . its more a matter if you paid for an app in playstore and you wnat this app back on your new phone you need playstore or you must buy it elsewhere again

Thanks for the review. When you zoom, you loose the amount of pixels... Anyhow, I love my Huawei P20 Pro and still way better than most new phones out there. And it's the longest cellphone I've ever used exactly 2 years now. BTW you don't need that 100x zoom just buy those mobile lenses like "Moment" lenses for you mobile phone that you can use for many years and to any mobile phones. It makes your picture even better and look like a pro.

I would give everything I have for the 10x optical zoom in a smartphone, not to get that 100 times zoom but 10x zoom, optical zoom. Sadly my "everything" right now doesn't cover the price of Pro Plus... But let's see...

Yep. Just like i imagined. Huawei bragged about how detailed their 100x zoom was compared to the Galaxy S20 ultra, yet both make the image look like a washed out watercolor painting. I guess none of them are that good for that much zoom. But the 10x optical zoom lens of the pro plus is quite impressive, granted it's a bit incomplete as a feature as Huawei said they'll release a firmware update for the cameras on release day as the pro plus is releasing sometime this month and I'm assuming it'll improve the quality at that 10x optical magnification as it looked a bit less detailed than the pro at that range. I expect that to be solved with a simple software update.
