Hub & Suspension Bearing Press System Explained

The new Hub & Suspension Bearing Press System expands the capabilities of the original acetal Suspension Bearing Press to remove and install bearings in hubs and freehubs as well as suspension pivots.
Here is an explanation of the system, it's new parts and even explains how the new ALT Drift removes the first bearing in a configuration where you have two bearings separated by an internal spacer!

This is an extremely versatile bearing press system that works for many situations by positioning different kit parts together to either remove or install bearings. Because it relies on using the right parts at the right time, it’s best to approach this task from the fundamentals of bearing swaps.

YES! I cannot believe this has not existed until now! For me this may come too late as I gathered many different tools and adapters and so on already, but for someone who has not yet invested many hours to find the right individual tools, this is simply GENIUS and will save many hours of internet search and frustration!!! As a home bike mechanic who's had to cobble my own special bearing tools from scraps of pipe or whatever, all I have to say is ... This. Is. Brilliant! Very well thought out system. Love it!

As a mechanic that only works on bike these days as part time I only do bearings a couple times a year, this is a great kit, when I had a metal lathe I wanted to build a similar kit however didn’t have the time or access to enough variety of bikes/hubs to design a complete kit. Can’t wait until you offer delivery to Australia

Hi Steve! Thank you for addressing the (should be) very delicate subject of bearing swap. Your tool is the most comprehensive I have found yet, so kudos for that. However, I wanted to ask you... I'm an avid user if Bitex hubs, and my front QR hubs have a 5mm ID axle which wouldn't make the press work, since the stud wouldn't enter into the axle. What would you recommend for that scenario? Is it possible to get or use your kit with that size of stud?

I want to buy a several overaxle drifts. I figured out what I need. BUt want to get some more items for future (maybe other wheelset) What are the most common sizes? I'd take like 4 sizes...

In the Bsb configuration on the xd driver, do you really need that long sleeve like spacer? Could I leave it out?

Is the whole bearing press system in the picture available for purchase? Like a whole set with everything in one kit?

You can buy the whole system in 3 kits plus the handle. Buy the HSBP-1, ALTD-1, OAD-1 and the handle. If you buy all these, there is a discount for the whole system. Glad you like it!
