In this video I show both versions of an Orbit with the Hubsan Zino. I also demonstrate the Follow Me function and Precision Landing. The Zino is just a great little drone!

Zino with 1.1.52 and 0.36... You just cant beat it. It just works. For the money - Hands Down - Awesome. Like you my original white Zino has been through its paces and been knocked about, dropped, bumped etc... and it just keeps on going. It was touch and go in the beginning but Boy did Hubsan do a nice job on what most thought would be an albatross. I love my Zino (1)...👍👍👍

Thank you GM! You are spot on. The original Zino is the best value there is out there for a stabilized camera drone! I'm running FC 1.2.04 and FPV 0.3.6. I'm also retiring my original battery, based on the reduced flight time I'm getting with it, and some of the catastrophic failures some of our fellow Zino pilots have had.

Hi there. I've just had the pleasure of watching your video and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. It was a wonderfully relaxed and friendly pace. I was impressed with the precision RTH, it doesn't get any better than that. What wonderful countryside you have over there; such a beautiful country. I have my own Zino Pro and although had it for a few months, due to the "bug" been demobbed. You're right, it is a great little drone. I know loads of folk are in love with DJI and they are good, but this little guy does everything I want. Thanks again. I will keep my eye on your channel.

Looking good. I really wish I had received my Zino but it got sent back to China. Dustin typically does a great job but I think he tries to tackle too many drones which makes it difficult to remember how to do everything. I can't be too critical of him because I mess up on stuff like that myself. I know he had some issues with waypoints when he reviewed the Evo. I didn't even review waypoints for it. I'm not a fan of waypoint missions especially after nearly losing my EVO from using waypoints which was my fault!

Wow, that reservoir really is low. Stunning images from Lucky Peak again, Marcus. Like you I've had no problem with the Zino's Active Track or Orbit Mode (either around transmitter or POI). I do find a smaller box and clothing that doesn't blend too easily with the landscape work best when tracking a moving subject. The Zino's never going to track an F1 car or even a Cheetah chasing down prey, but it has no problem with me or my 10 years old Labrador. After testing the Precision Landing a couple of dozen times over a couple of days out of curiosity I haven't bothered with it since. I purchased three batteries when I bought the Zino last year, use them in rotation and two of them are now giving me 10-12 minutes, but the third is still around 14-16mins. Like you, time for some new ones, I think.

I guess the point I was trying to make with this video is that the automated flight modes that Hubsan provides with this drone do work. It is certainly not as refined as more expensive products, but they do work. The Zino remains the best value available in a stabilized camera drone. And thank you Paddy. I always appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Anyone buying this drone are getting a fantastic flying camera 👍😃.saw Gorilla man last night reviewing the zino pro but I don't see any pro about it😕.to be fair Gorilla man had a hard time of it coz he is seriously blocked in with tall trees,so zino pro still needs a thorough test.Thanks 😀👌🙋.

Banggood has their big 11-11 sale going on with the Zino Pro for $315. I was tempted to buy it, but the website said that it cannot ship from the China warehouse to the US. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you John! They're emptying the reservoir in anticipation of spring snow runoff. I'll get out there in a month or two and it will be even lower. By next April the reservoir will be full to the brim again. I actually have to get a permit from the Army Corp of Engineers to fly there. I email them before each flight to let them know to expect a drone flying around. 👍

@@IdahoQuadcopter Oh ok so it's purposeful and not a drought. When I lived in Jersey and I saw things like that, it would mean things are really bad and we'd be on water restrictions. Good on you for getting a permit, that's great!

Always good and informative videos Marcus! Just a question, looking at AirMap, the reservoir itself does not have any obvious flight restrictions, EXCEPT for directly over the power generation section at the base of the Dam. Everything else shows as completely unrestricted. Is there some local guidance there? Or is your permit allowing you to fly over the power generation section (which you've never done in any videos I've watched)? I wonder if Dustin was using a phone with a lesser processor than what you have. The "follow me" is heavily dependent upon the image processing ability (processor) of the phone.

Thank you so much Tom! No, the permit does not absolve me of any NFZs. I also have to tell them where I am flying. In other words if I were flying from say, the boat ramp, I would need to specify that. As for Dustin's issues, who knows, I suppose a less powerful mobile device could be a contributing factor.

@@IdahoQuadcopter I've checked the firmware, all seems what it should be except the Gimball G.V3.0.2.5 . I notice the Gimball prone to warn about Gyro high angel on and off and when I on the drone no movement from the camer a, but in flight video and photos camera control were normal. I decided to flash with the Firmware download from Hubsan site , only now the camera do it self check. Will test it later today, its 0150hrs here in Malaysia 😂 BTE my Zino controller, there are a small push switch , no more pins

Good video....thanks for the review of this drone - I am now convinced on committing to it. I hardly ever fly my old DJI Vision 2 because it's so big and bulky. I like to travel with my drone and from the reviews I have seen this drone appears to be worth it. Don't get me wrong, I do like DJI products, but they have got to do better on their pricing. So until they do I am exploring others. I know that Hubsan has been doing the mini drones and do fairly well with them. Curious, is your video/audio done in post edit? I like how you are able to see the drones camera while you voice-over. Or is the audio from your smart phone recorded with your drone footage? Thanks Good job

Hi , Marcus , i just received my Zino , and it happened that its upgraded to the latest firmware , except for the FPV witch is 0.3.6...very good , i did not fly yet ,but everything seems to connect correctly on my samsung galaxy tab s2 (android).The only problem , is i can't find sd card fast enough , i tried 3 different class 10 SD HC none of them work.Photos , ok.What are you using?Thanks a lot for the help you did a very good job with all your videos.

The SD card is very important on the Zino. It must be formatted to Fat32 so I never use a card bigger than 32GB. It does need a high speed card, I use a SanDisk Extreme U3 speed rated micro sd card. I'm glad you received your Zino! You will really have fun with it.

Hi great work was wondering what camera firmware are you using?. Also what setting in camera app using 1080 or 4k etc. this would be very helpful as my footage off zino is very soft and only sharp when close. also tried every combo on resolution better in 1080 but still soft

Thank you. I'm on FPV 0.3.6. I always shoot in 4K, and set the appropriate white balance. I hope that helps.

Hey! Nice video... A BIG question for you.. While Zino has come a long way with regular updates and now Zino Pro is here as well. What would be your take on Zino Vs Fimi X8? Zino Pro with 2 batteries or spend another $100 and get the Fimi with single battery?

I absolutely love the Hubsan Zino! However given the parameters of your choice, the Fimi has much greater capabilities. I'd probably spring for the X8. All of that said, the X8 is not perfect. I'd say you couldn't go far wrong with either choice.

Hello Marcus Is New Firmware for Zino 117S ZINO -FC-V.1.2.05 (firmware for flight control board),ZINO_G-V3.0.2.8(firmware for gimbal )Relase 27.11 !!!Change log 11. Increase the immediate alert function for the irregular actual battery capacity, Semi-charge state(it means the battery is unable to be fully charged) and battery capacity reduction. You can adjust your drone flight strategy or change the battery once you have seen this warning. 12.Optimized RTH at short range and increase the cancel option for low battery RTH and land mode 13.Optimized the gimbal error code 0X0008 Will you Testing?????Please

Hello Marcus excellent reminder about the different possibilities of the zino in a awesome place. I also have a zino since December 2018 with 4 batteries and I find that with 25 cycles of recharging I do not fly more than 8 minutes. Do not you think the same thing?

It appears that what’s happening and Zino is falling out of the sky Just saw a randoneur video proving that out. That’s how I lost my zino. No RTH because battery failure. Not good!!

Loved the review. I’m another Zino fan although I think I’ve got one of the rejects. My gimbal has a fine shake (jerkiness) every time I move the aircraft with or with no wind ... such a shame. That’s why I check your reviews as reference point. You’re always very thorough and methodical. One thing I wanted to mention with Dustin’s video is that when he tried the tracking it was on a different surface (field vrs asphalt) and bright sunshine vrs cloudy. Just thought you should know. Cheers !

The Zino sometimes struggles in high winds. A Mavic 2, would probably be more appropriate in that situation.

Can U add all the versions U have on that video. APP, Gimbal, IT_Camera, Controller, FC version, cuz I am tremble with all of them together to make it work perfect. Trial n error, it cost me 4 drones

I use FC 1.2.05, Gimbal 3.0.2.2. Camera 0.3.6. I always tell people to use their own judgment on what firmware they want to use. Many people swear by FC 1.1.52.

@@IdahoQuadcopter Thanx for fast replay. I've tested 1.1.52 and 1.2.6 and both sux. Just drains my battery. UI says. Buy new one, but it is new. And over +5 °C the software should handle that perfectly, if U don't drunk a Corona. Just a Trappist Trippel Double, IPA would do. Thanx again

I suspect that is because of the limited Bitrate of the Zino.

@@IdahoQuadcopter Thank you so much for the info. Marcus. I just received my Zino Tues. Before I purchased it I spent weeks watching your an Dennis's Tubes, every one is saved to my library. I've been shutting off the video when it starts decent but there was never a mention on the Beta thing. I started to turn it on but didn't for some dumb reason. Turning off serves two purposes really. 1) Landing, 2) Shutting it off before the controller so as not to lose video. Unlike DJI Recording Starts/Stops on takeoff/landing. Thanks once more for the help.

Mine used to "crabwalk" fairly significantly. It was something Hubsan finally corrected with firmware updates. You might try a horizontal calibration and see if that helps.

Hallo Friend ..Follow me mode loses the object !!!! Hubsan Zino apk Android 1.7.1 .Aplication x Hubsan pops up warnings about a weak CPU Xiaomi Redmi 4X phone, without exaggeration it is not so weak phone.I bought a new Redmi 7 Note CPU 8x2.2 Ghz phone and the same loses the object and pops up in the application for a weak CPU !!!
