From what I understand, people used to pray facing Masjid Al Aqsa even during the time of Prophet SAW. The Masjidil Haram back then was the area where they use to place the idols and all.. If not mistaken, there's a story of Abraha and Ababil birds who want to destroy Masjid Haram around the time of Prophet SAW birth.. Then in surah Al Baqarah verse 149, the order to change the Qibla to facing Masjid Al Haram was given after the Hijrah period. Wallahualam..

Ibrahim (A.S.) then rebuilt Masjid Al-Haram. However, it was once again in control of Kafirs. In the meantime, Masjid Al-Aqsa was built by Sulaiman (A.S.) and it was the first Masjid in history. Muslims used to pray towards Al-Aqsa till Hijrah.

First of all,I think the problem with u is that you are extremely confused about the concept of God. According to you,every religion has a different god i.e Yahweh for the Jews,Father for the Christian,Allah for Muslims. That is wrong because if you claim this,then you are going against all of these religions.. That is because they are all monotheist religions,they all believe in 1 God. God,Allah,Yahweh whichever you wanna call,first sent Moses(from where the Jews started),then sent Jesus(Christians started)and then Muhammad (Muslims started).

you have a misconception about all of these religions, they all believe in the same, one God (they do have differing interpretations of him though) , it is just that they think the people before them have gone the wrong path (Christian and Muslim belief) or think the people after them have false prophet (jewish and christian belief) and lied about/twisted their experience with god. *so the answer to your question is, "Allah" (god in arabic, now used exclusively by islam due to years of the arabic world being the islam world aswell) was always there* (you should read more about all the religions so you won't make mistakes when talking about them in future)
