As somebody who’s never listened to RS and have been a long time listener of Viall files, I was disappointed with his interview with RS and more so with his thoughts looking back on the situation in this interview. For nick, someone who’s whole motto is insight/self-awareness/accountability, he hasn’t learned anything from this experience. It makes me question weather or not Nick is actually genuine in his podcasts or if it’s to prove to everyone he’s a good smart guy. This may be harsh but I can’t even support his podcast anymore.

The negative comments about Nick with regard to the Reality Steve podcast were not "only from RealitySteve fans." At least not on KZfaq. Nick's fans soundly and roundly criticized his inability to listen. It's a difficulty that continues to plague him no matter the guest .

Hi, a former Nick fan here 🙋♀️ he needs to own up and recognize when he’s a grown man acting like a HS bully. His old producer used to play devil’s advocate & hold him accountable, but the new one just enabled his emotions 🙄

For example having the final 3 girls on peters season stay in the same apt and then to have madi go last knowing she’s a virgin was very shady. They knowingly created drama there and didn’t give AF abt peter finding love lol. The producers are shameful

Nick is borderline a narcissist. It wasnt Reality Steve "fans" who were upset with you. It was people who were annoyed with you talking over, being condescending and rude to a "guest" on your "podcast".

The worst part of it all was when they ended on fairly decent terms, then nick had to have another round of insults about Steve with his producer. He couldn’t even say those things to Steve man to man. That was less than unprofessional that was classless. I unsubscribed from Nick that day because it was a level of immaturity I can not accept from a 40 yr old man. Hopefully he grows up fast.

I think he checks many boxes for being a narcissist in that interview. He had very illogical and ego centered thinking. He also made a lot of assumptions (acted like he was right and other people were wrong), was very manipulative, discredited other people’s opinions and feelings he didn’t like, and he had double standard thinking. It was verbally abusive behavior. It was really sad.

The reflection from Nick on his podcast episode was so disparate from the actual episode that listening to him talk about it here was mind boggling. To blame all of the critical feedback he received on “Reality Steve’s fans” is willfully denying people like myself who have been long time fans of Nick but are also capable of the critical thinking skills necessary to critique the content we love and consume. I’d have way more respect for him right now if he just owned up to his behavior and treated it like a learning opportunity, not blame it on the “haters”. It’s just so frustrating to watch someone let their own pride/ego/whatever get in the way so much and then dig their heels in about it.

Yeah, after reading the comments here I went back to listen to Nick’s episode. I’ve listened to several of his podcasts and never listened to reality Steve. Nick has a lot of illogical, delusional, narcissistic, ego centered, and double standard thinking in that interview. I wonder if Bekah especially is intentionally not listening to the episode after reading some of the reviews (or if Jess warned her after listening to it). Thinking in her position, because Nick and her seem to be friends or at least pretty friendly, without listening she can just take his word for whatever happened with reality Steve while talking on this podcast and claim “well I didn’t actually listen to the episode so I don’t know...” if someone asked her why she didn’t push back harder against the clear delusions Nick was peddling. Not that this is a necessarily a malicious thing, I’d probably do the same in her position but it is why I don’t think we heard much from Jess who did listen to the episode and why I don’t think we’ll ever get to hear Bekah or Jess’ actual thoughts on the matter.

~Former Nick fan here~ Ugh, I purposely stopped watching Nick’s podcas after he tried to manipulate his guest instead of interviewing them. Please don’t have him on bc he just sounds so whiny and hypocritical! He talked to Kaitlyn before going on her season (plus all the other shit he did for fame), so why does he feel the need to judge Claire? His emotions are connected to the fact that he let (and still lets) producers manipulate him to cause drama, but he gets upset when other ppl stand up and make their own choices rather than being ABC’s puppet. Y’all need to listen to the episode with RS if you don’t know what I’m talking about bc he was so childish towards RS and tried to get a rise out of him. It was cringy beyond belief. 🙃 honestly, I’m done with him until he apologizes or hold himself accountable.

Nick is unbelievable. He can't see or admit that he was in the wrong during the RS podcast. He blamed the listeners/RS fans/haters for all the negative feedback that misunderstood him. Sorry, but Nick is the one responsible for taking his vendetta to the airwaves not the audience. RS is basically a spoiler/gossip site that many people enjoy. Let's be real about bashing him for ruining people's lives because that's not fair when Nick himself, and others from Bachelor nation, have also done their share of trash talking. I join the many who used to be Nick's fans but now am not.

^^^ correct. I was ready to be on Nick’s side but his and his new producer’s attitudes were 🤮 they are grown adults who acted like childhood bullies. I only got a little halfway through it and had to turn it off bc I was cringing to my core. I couldn’t watch Nick contradict himself or kiss the Bachelor producer’s asses anymore (they’ve admitted to doing a lot of messed up stuff, for example- locking Kelly in a closet last season 🙄).

why is nick so damn rude to clare? like we know absolutely nothing about what happened and hes just automatically assuming she was difficult and took off her mic and said a big fuck you to producers. based on what?!? the media literally says "Clare Quit." thats it. it doesn't say why, it doesn't say if she had producer support, it doesnt say anything. for all we know the concept of making out with a bunch of people during a global pandemic set in and she freaked out and wanted to leave. or she easily could have made a comment under her breath about how she wanted to quit (like every single person who goes on this show says they did at some point) and the producers had a meeting about how it would actually be an interesting idea and gave them her full support. can we just stop attacking her based on nothing.

Jesus Nick is being such a fun sucker and SO naive. IF Clare had a relationship with this guy prior to filming, the producers 100% knew this going into filming. Clare has an actual friendship with these people, they knew. It's so obvious they put all of this into motion before filming began, they were prepared for this possibility and gave Clare the option. You talked about the dual Bachelorettes in New Zeeland. I’m not sure if you know this, but one of them was Lily McManus that I know Bekah has met. While her season was pre-planned for two women, she still entered a couple of weeks into the filming as a surprise. She might have some interesting thoughts on the new dynamics, and how the contestants would have to switch from one lead to another. I suggest you give her a call. That could be a unique angle for you. :)

Also the age gap of the cast. 30-40-year-olds with Hannah Ann who is in her early 20s. That's an almost 20 year age gap with some of the guys. Tayshia was the best pick in all categories.

I used to wonder why Nick is still single, and assumed he was just picky/hasn't met the right person yet. I mean...he ticks off most boxes - very attractive, makes a good living, seems to be a decent person... It's his personality. What else could it be? He has become INSUFFERABLE. Sure, he's hot, but he is so annoying. No self awareness. He takes himself too seriously. He needs to lighten up, let go, and LISTEN. I can't listen to his podcast because of his constant interrupting, over-explaining, and self-aggrandizing. People call him out for repeating himself constantly and talking over people and still he refuses to listen and learn.

Whoa I thought I was part of some vast minority of girls who don't like Nick (just checked the comments, which say otherwise)... I was excited to see Bekah and Jess together but I don't enjoy watching Nick... I just don't find him charming at all. Is he always cynical? Nick is seriously so awful. He has no self awareness and he has this way of twisting things so that he's always right. I guess, he has has to do that to feel good about himself, but how can anyone manage to listen or hang around this guy? I make the mistake of giving him the benefit of the doubt, but every time he reminds me why I shouldn't have. Once he started talking about his interview with Reality Steve it was downhill from there. Ugh, I just don't even want to point out all his crap anymore.

If Clare did fall in love early, good for her. I get she still had a season to go through which I was super excited to watch, but at 39 she doesn’t have time to be wasting, especially if she wants to start a family of her own some day and her mom isn’t well. Wasting time at a resort, then more time of not being the one she picks til it’s announced formally = at least a year of wasted time. Do your thing, Clare!

Byron's Bachelor season was super dramatic! It was the season that started with 2 Bachelors and the women got to choose. Even some female contestants came back from the season before (Bob's season) and Byron chose one of those women in the end. I personally thought that ending was very romantic too. Good season! That is back when they were still casting people that no one had ever known before in the spotlight. I think it was so long ago that it's probably on VHS tape so we'll probably never see it from ABC again (plus there was an arrest between the final couple in subsequent years). DRAMA! I'm tellin' ya!

Nick is completely missing the point about what was wrong with that interview. I as a fan of Nick's and a critic of Steve's found it extremely difficult to get through the podcast NOT because he was criticizing Steve, but because he wouldn't let his guest speak. Every single question was a leading questions trying to get Steve to accept blame. Even when Steve was trying to be amicable in his responses, Nick wouldn't let him finish any of his thoughts without interrupting and moving the goalpost. If he wanted to vent about RS he could've done an episode by himself. It was insulting watching someone I've been watching from the beginning take low blow after low blow towards one of his GUESTS. And fwiw, Nick is one of my favorite guys to come from the franchise, and I've held this opinion steadfast since Andi's season. But it sucks to see him ignore the critique of his viewers/listeners by equating us to Reality Steve teeny boppers.

And The fact that he pretends to care about the Jenna situation is a last ditch effort to attach himself in someway to that drama to try and seem like he’s so empathetic to her even though when that whole situation happened he said that Jenna wasn’t famous enough to have her phone hacked, never seen him apologize for that.. and Bekah there’s an interview of you with Ashley bashing Jenna as well that you never came out with an apology for either so before you can jump on the hate train for reality Steve maybe you should address yourself first....just saying...I’m sad you guys decided to have him on your podcast he is just the worst....his thoughts on Claire are so ridiculous as well, production wouldn’t have went along with this whole twist if it wasn’t beneficial to their viewership so obviously it’s not just one sided, they’re going to get so much more views by having this twist on the show and I think it’s going to be great to have another race other than white as bachelorette as well!

I have been a HUGE fan of yours since the beginning and still am. But I am commenting for the first time to express my disappointment for having Nick on your podcast. I mean to the point that I was having cringy flashbacks from having listened to him with Reality Steve. I have really wished you had watched the podcast with Reality Steve prior to bringing on Nick. The fan response was spot on. I was a fan of both Steve AND Nick prior. Nick’s attitude and response to his podcast is again proof he his unprofessional and has no self reflection. There was no “argument between two men”. It was all Nick demanding Steve admit he is a POS. Steve took it well. I just can’t believe I had to listen to Nick’s rude attitude and condescending voice again, towards you two as well. I still love you guys -just felt this should be said.

The worst part of it all was when they ended on fairly decent terms, then nick had to have another round of insults about Steve with his producer. He couldn’t even say those things to Steve man to man. That was less than unprofessional that was classless. I unsubscribed from Nick that day because it was a level of immaturity I can not accept from a 40 yr old man. Hopefully he grows up fast.

Would have 10x preferred more of the broads discussing Claire/Tayshia/Ali than Nick's patreon promo. Chemistry with Grey and Evan is a lot more fun to listen to. Not a Nick hater, I just like hearing recaps and tea from the Broads... their dynamic isn't the same with Nick and feels forced. Grey, Evan, or Craig could join in and you would think they were one of the hosts because the chemistry is so natural.

I don’t really agree with Nick. If the purpose of the show is to find love, there’s nothing wrong with Clare talking to the men before filming. This is how bip often goes too, with the cast contacting one another before filming. I’m not upset about Clare leaving if she found love. It’s better for her to leave than lead the other contestants on. I think it’s more selfish to stay as a bachelorette and waste the staff and other contestants’ time.

yes but thats the point of the show? like it or not, bachelor/bachelorettes kinda have to lead people on for the show. Whats the point of a ten episode show if the contestant figures out who they want and leave with them by week 2? unfortunately the show isnt just about love, sure, she could be in love with this man early on, but so does most of the bachelors, as nick stated, her case isnt unique, the difference is we as the audience get nothing in this case, so she did, in fact, waste everyones time including us.

mari g This is exactly why Tayshia is replacing Clare. Having a lead is all that matters, it doesn’t necessarily matter who they are. She may have wasted time, but at least she didn’t waste more than two months of our time when she knew who she wanted all along. We see some couples leave paradise together before the show ends, so I don’t think her leaving with someone she likes is a big deal. We will start anew with Tayshia, so I don’t see why we should harp on Clare.

Analisa Venolia we don’t even know what her contract entails. There was an episode of Bachelor Greatest Seasons Ever where Chris reveals that another woman agreed to be the bachelorette and backed out last minute because she met her husband on a first date. There’s always a way out of a contract, and if her heart is no longer into the idea of being on the show, she shouldn’t be. Otherwise we’d end up with a crappy season like Juan Pablo’s season. I’m happy to have a season with Tayshia as a bachelorette, so I don’t see any of this as a bad thing.

I wanted Clare to be the bachelorette too but it’s not selfish for her to talk to these men beforehand. We are living through a pandemic and who knows if she knew when her season was going to be filmed if ever. Is she supposed to put her life on hold? I don’t like how Nick kept painting Clare in a negative light, the lack of self awareness is wild. Also definitely here for Tayshia being the bachelorette.

Such a pity , I was actually a huge fan of his podcast. We were your fans who wanted you to question RS and talk about it. You kinda explain everything that he did better here compare to your 1 hour podcast. You couldn’t deliver , thats just it. and still you didn’t learn. wooo best surprise having Nick on for this! It was nice to hear his take about being disappointed in Clare for not carrying the season. I'm happy if she did find love, but the likelihood it lasts seems low (this would not be the first time she "falls in love" super quickly with someone who isn't a good fit), and his criticisms were valid and interesting coming from a former lead. Also I don't consider the Tayshia/Clare thing to be a spoiler-I think TPTB will not announce it though so they can have maximum twists for the show (because the people who already know about it will tune in anyway and those that don't know about it will be further drawn in when they find out about the switcheroo an episode or several in). Also him talking about his Patreon podcasts reaaaally makes me want to subscribe. Very cool to do that.

She doesn't really but she's a fan of the show and a friend of Bekah's. The podcast originally wasn't supposed to focus on Bach Nation that much but it's fun to talk about and they're chemistry is lovely. Jess has good insight and is so sweet and probably why I keep coming back. The non Bach related episodes are really good/interesting too!
