We have started becoming minimalists. We have been organizing and decluttering the last few months and it feels AMAZING. Thankful to The Home Edit & Marie Konda for starting my journey & Dawn from The Minimal Mom for REALLY kickstarting my minimalist journey. I haven't missed ANYTHING.

Cats lack an essential enzyme in their liver and have difficulty metabolizing and eliminating certain toxins like essential oils. Please be careful and check which ones are safe. It's discouraging how tidying initially creates so much more mess at the start. Love the pink jumper ❤️

Don’t get me wrong, I adore watching the KZfaqrs with the aesthetically pleasing minimalist homes too, but I prefer you as your videos feel far more real & achievable for the average joe like me. Great job Kay and Dom, I’m on a decluttering mission too as we prepare for our big life changing move to Yorkshire from Hampshire!

Why am I so obsessed with decluttering videos 🤣🤣 it's so satisfying to watch!! Kay for now put the extra bedding, pillows etc you want yo keep into vacuum bags...they should then fit under the bed nicely 🤞💖

I live in Melbourne, Australia and my husband often drives a truck from Melbourne to Queensland and back again in about 4 days. He's basically my hero and such a hard worker but it is SO many hours!

Decluttering exercises so many parts of the body and mind. It reminds us of how independent we can become without our comfort clutter. The messy part makes my soul feel like it’s at the gym for a mental clearing .

Wow! Well done Kay.......you are a trouper & inspiration for sure. How fab you start your young married life off having travelled......Heres an idea for you both, as you drove soooo much round NZ & Aus why dont you make a feature memory wall in your spare room with your maps framed & incorporate Doms steering wheels too. .....very apt 🤔. Youre doing really well on your journey together living a more minimal life. Wish id done it when I was younger, now 62 & whilst id tried to keep my clutter down, had to clear my mom & dads house when my dad died 3 years ago & im finding it REALLY hard to let go of ALOT of their stuff, but you have made me want to tackle my bits again, so thanks for that Kay. THANK YOU! I didn't know the anti mold paint existed. Need to try that in our bathroom! Also make sure you don't use any citrus oils that were in that pouch on your skin. Those should be kept in the fridge, they oxidize fast and can seriously harm you skin if you use old ones on there.

I actually love decluttering and reorganising. I plan to keep minimising my belongings. We have a a taller bed not to store anything but to be able to have better views and for air flow under the bed because I live in Australia and it gets humid and I we have to battle mould.

I should be decluttering something right now. 😊

Put your bed up on blocks for more storage space underneath. And more room for cat toys underneath, lol!

So glad I’m not alone with how difficult decluttering can actually be. It always becomes a huge mess before you see any progress I’m with you in the struggle. My home is horrific at the moment… a house rabbit and a toddler doesn’t help 🙈😂 you’re doing fab!! ❤

Great work! A massive declutter! Two suggestions: one, maybe think about losing some of the furniture in there to give you more space ( do you need a bedside table and dressing table next to each other, can you move, or lose a chest of drawers) and two, perhaps a hard flooring in the wardrobe might be better given the damp? Wow, Kay, what a MASSIVE project! Amazing job, both of you! That was extremely satisfying to watch. I recently decluttered and cleaned under my bed and oh my god it's the best. You may not see the difference when you're in the room, but you certainly feel so much better - I can only imagine how much better your bedroom must be feeling! (I too have that to-take-care-of pile now, but that's for future me to deal with.) Getting rid of the daybed makes such a huge difference as well. You can be really proud of yourself for tackling all this! I'm feeling very inspired now - I'll actually go and deal with that one cupboard I've been procrastinating on. Thank you 💙

Great job! It's amazing how you feel so much lighter when you declutter, even if it doesn't drastically change what you can see on the surface. I always find a ton of cat toys when I move furniture. I bring them out and "somehow" they get back under pretty quickly.

Just an idea, you could buy some bed risers which can be found on Amazon, instead of, or until, you get a new bed. Definitely a cheaper and easier solution than getting a whole new bed! Also, you can get the Kindle app on your phone, which would eliminate the need to keep the Kindle 🙂

This is so motivating! Thanks so much for showing the choas and mess as it goes. I get overwhelmed and dishearted with the choas that happens with these projects, and so many other videos just show the tidiness after that I feel I'm doing it wrong.

I declutter by sections in my house because I don’t like to create chaos. When I declutter, I move things out of the way right then. It has been better lately. At the beginning it was hard because it was so slow. I’m making progress!

For the Etsy shipping receipts… file by month. Put current month in a single spot, file previous month on the 1st. Once the full month/80 days is up chuck the full month. Much less thinking and month changes people tend to remember to “reset” stuff.

Hi Kay....what a great job. A ottoman bed are brilliant....so much room x We had drawers and couldn't get as much as you think in them ..and if it's a tight space they don't pull out enough....I am so pleased with ours ...and there is many on the market price Wise x

Lovely video Kay! I love love love my lift up storage bed (ottoman bed) - it’s really the best! I store our out of season clothing and an extra set of sheets and extra toiletries from those bulk Costco purchases.

Kay if you have a look on line you can buy risers for your bed which will raise it for you . Not sure if it will help but worth a look , I have used them very successfully xxxx

If you can access 4 corners of your bed, then go for Divan bed . If you can only access the end of bed, then go for an Ottoman bed x

Random things where you don't know where to put, such as the message ball, try to ask, instead, where you would look for it if you need it. Then place it there. Keep up the good work!

I just got through cleaning my wardrobe out tonight. I was surprised at how much actual dirt was on the rod where the hangers are suspended from. I also cleaned the support brackets for the rod as well. I hadn't thought to clean those since I redid the closet in 2010. I shall put this on my regular weekly dusting list so I don't have to do that again, lol.

Charity shops where I live don’t except bedding , blankets or cushions, I donated to cat shelter. I find charity shops are becoming very fussy with what they can except not sure if it’s since covid. It makes me accountable now for what I bring into the home so not a bad thing. I’m trying to be fussy myself what I buy now so don’t over fil the land fill. We’re just a society with too much material possessions. I’m really trying hard this year and it’s one of my goals . I love that chest of draws in your bedroom by the walk in wardrobe it would look loverly as a bedside chest. X

Until you decide re bed get some risers. Vacuum pack bedding and hire a dehumidifier xxx

Hello👋 I know the struggle and the painful process of trying to find the right pillow it can be very mind taxing. I have been needing to go on a pillow search again it just causes me stress and just usually put it off. What pillow you end up finding that you like? Also I don't know where you live if you have a h and m but they take all textiles clothes , bags,belts etc . I'm sure they recycle phone cases to you just take it to store and drop off ur donation . Also if you search places to recycle old electronics and chords you can find probably a couple companies that will send you a bag and you mail ur stuff to them to recycle. Also I don't know if u have recycle stations near you but like I have one near me that recycles like tvs appliances etc. If you see this hope it helps you or anyone else reading this .

Well done you got a lot done in 5 hours 🤗 Check Amazon for wrapping storage bag, they lie flat (might even fit under your bed) and are super cheap. Perhaps until you get a new bed you could vacuum pac all your spare bedding and again it might fit under your bed 🤞 I have an ottoman bed and would definitely recommend.

I feel SO much better knowing I'm not the only one wading through choas in the house 🙈 We don't have a single room that is "normal" right now apart from the bathroom 😂 We just have a little 2 bed farm cottage, we're doing our daughter's room up with new furniture etc so a huge declutter is happening in her room, our room and the living room seem to be being used as "holding pens" at the moment 😂 There's a new mattress still in its packaging in the very small kitchen so I'm having to move that around as I cook. The dining room is also being used as a holding pen. I have absolutely no idea how to get out of this mess! We've actually just bought that very daybed for our daughter so I hope it's not too big in her room - we are getting rid of a giant loft bed which takes up a ridiculous amount of space in a fairly small room. We also have a 4 year old cat and a little kitten added into the mix so of course they're into everything 😂 Thank you for another lovely video.

Oh you sold the bed for spare room, nursery maybe in the near future, I have an ottoman bed and best thing I got foe my two up two down simular to yours, can fit 9 low rectangle storage boxes with lids on so it is so useful x

You can buy just risers for your bed that are cheap and that will then leave space for under bed boxes

Ottoman beds are great, but just check the measurements if space is tight as generally the frames are bigger than “normal” beds, particularly the length.

It is a pain, but in the end, decluttering is so good. I need to tackle our bedroom on my vacation next week. I will take this video as my motivation. And sorry, the chair now belongs to Echo.

It’s hard to tell in the video but if the slats under your bed are in a metal frame you could try converting it to an ottoman bed with some gas powered hinges.
