You want that feedback for your winches. We have a crane without it, and when your working in the blind, and someone asks for slow hoist, it's hard to tell without the indicators....

I prefer the thumper myself but it's manageable without it. I have ran many older cranes without operational aids. I feel like the more advantages you are given the better off you are however these gadgets do have the potential too fail so pay attention.

Notice that you have to sound the horn when lifting...here on uk not the operator job...slinger has to do it...they have a special buzzer

How many meters in the air are you? Free standing or tied? Crane cab doesn’t seem to move that much when your slewing and trolleying out,

I am over 200ft freestanding so approx 70 m

Uk mandatory all orange ppe with reflective stripes and orange hat...some people don't bother with orange trousers
