Put a old coat over the the cable when pulling, it dampens the cable if it brakes. It worked on stuck mud trucks. Hope this helps. God bless.

I bailed with a cab 5075 and man they are a great tractor . Small enough to be nimble but big enough to do most of what you need to on a small property .... good save hank !!! Howboutcha!!!😂

I have used synthetic on a side by side but i dont think i would use it on a workiing winch. A person has a tendency to go over or through to many sharp objects that would have a tendency to cut or fray a synthentic line. Always love to see neighbors helping neighbors.

I agree with you Hank, when you set up a series of snatch blocks like a 6 to 1 ratio you can increase the pulling power. I watched a video on youtube about they hooked up several blocks and by redirecting the cable, he was able to pull that vehicle by hand. Also on MIdwest Truck they used a side by side to pull out a rental van by redirecting to trees. Maybe you need a yank em rope.

Hank I’m one that pointed out you would have trouble getting out with a cage (most cages are done at the rear of the winch box) however you could do a cage at the front of the winch box near your pivot head. Also get a weighted blanket to put over your winch line. Changing line would reduce the weight a lot.

That winch box is handier than a shirt with 2 pockets.

If that tractor was buried another 12 ft you could have just smooth dirt on top of it and that would have been a perfect John Deere lol

A good rule to follow: When I run an oifield winch truck, I woud tell the operator of the equipment I was pulling out, " Hook that line where you want a piece snatced off, because if I can't pull it out, I will pull a piece of it off."

Hank, you need wheelless tire or a weighted mat they make especially for cable dampening should it break put it mid cable and it will drop before it comes all the way back at you.

It just touches my heart because everything I'm going through right now there's things that sometimes I toss around in my own head and there's things I have questioned because of my own personal battle with my health

Hamiltonville farms i have a suggestion that will make using the winch box safer to use put a medal barrier on the box between the skid steer window using a piece of medal grate welded to a frame so you can still see what you are doing but are protected from stuff flying through the window and hitting you should rigging fail

Got the same model in 2wd. Stuck it in a wet hog wallow. Stuck my JD 5203 trying to get it out. Ended up using my 450G dozer to get both out and smooth holes..... Hog wallow was hidden btw.....

Just some food for thought, we use to run TL12’s with the company I worked for on the transmission ROW’s and they had 20,000# hydraulic winches mounted to the rear of the machines, I had a huge snatch block that I carried with me as well to double my capacity and there was absolutely nothing that thing wouldn’t pull. I’d even anchor my front end to a tree in certain situations to hold the machine and she was a beast. Never had to worry about the cable breaking and coming through the door AND I had it with me at all times for when I got stuck myself. That’s the only downside I see to your design is that I’m you don’t have it to pull your own self out! I own 2 bobcats personally, a wheeled 773 and a T630 and I’d love to find me a cheap hydraulic winch at an auction to build me a set up on the rear of my 630, you couldn’t beat that design in my opinion. need to get sponsored by yankem rope. Rachet strap fatigue over time and you end up with shorter strap. I’d weld some D rings hook 🪝 that rope to them at times the cable n winch isn’t strong enough. I’d look into those glass mat to those Lithium batteries yes their more expensive but the alternative is no dead batteries. Need to get a sponsor for them I wish i could afford them put one in riding mower see how it does three for the bass boat. They’re supposed to be lighter than lead acid. 24 volt trolling motor one for cranking. Just need a lithium charger
