Super. A number of the locomotives you have acquired have already proven themselves for over 40 years on my model railroad. I love the Athearn Bluebox locomotives, especially the Superpower EMD F-7 A and B units, and I still operate with nine Superpowered (5 F-7As and 4 F-7Bs) locomotives and four (1 F-7A and 3 F-7Bs) dummies. I spent a little over $25.00 for my first two Superpower F units. The old school Atlas frame has the same motor as the Atlas turntable, and I actually paid $10.00 awhile back for a frame with a motor, just like yours, to add power to my turntable. The broken Atlas Santa Fe SD-24, the Mantua/Tyco 0-4-0 steam switcher with tender, the Model Power/RSO New Haven Alco RS-11, and the Mantua/Tyco Plymouth CR-4 center cab diesel hydraulic "shunter" would be more than welcome on my railroad. Three CR-4s, one bought for $3.95 brand new (1967, my first loco) with a plastic clamshell case, a used one I paid $15.00 for, just to save it from a kid, and one brand new old stock Mantua/Tyco CR-4 I found in its original box at a hobby shop (Mizell's Trains) about two decades ago, but opened and missing the front handrail, all operate on my railroad. The newcomer was marked at $35.00, and I talked them down to $30.00. That is 10 times what I paid for the first one, but they run great and take care of my trolley line freight. (4 3/4 inch radius curves) One Mantua/Tyco 0-4-0 steam switcher ($19.95 new) survives at my sugar beet mill, one MP/RSO RS-11 ($18.97 new, from Woolworths) operates the yard, and two Atlas SD-24s ($25.99 each new, Caboose Hobbies) take care of the freight. These locomotives and other survivors in my fleet (64 old school, 27 new school steam, diesel, and electric locos) run great inside or outside, operate smoothly, and have a nice patina on the old paint job now that makes them look very realistic. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.

If you got a lot of Athearn "blue box" locos....you're already a winner!!! Those babies are built like tanks - they run and run and run, and they need just a little maintenance to keep them going. I have a couple of Athearn "blue box" locos I bought when I was 15. I'm now 63 - and those things STILL run!!! And BTW...it's easy as heck to put Kadee couplers on them as well!!!

Dam right they are built like tanks! My oldest locomotive is the Athearn Rock Island which was given to my by my grandfather about 25-30 years ago and it was always a great runner, never had to do anything major to it. Recently I did an overhaul to that locomotive where I stripped it down and rebalanced the armature and double flywheels and the resulting increase in speed blew my mind it made such a difference (like 30%) that I started to cry because I know my grandfather would have been very proud of me.

Your Walthers locomotive is a GP9 low hood. Rounded roof cabs are always earlier EMD's, like GP7, GP9 GP20 and SD9, or SD24.

Great box o' stuff you got! Usually the "free" stuff has been taking up space for a long time. Just a way to make room for more stuff! AHH, back in the day...First thing I did with the Athearn BB Engines was replace the steel wheel sets with stainless steel wheel sets. SO MUCH BETTER electrical contact! Along with Kadee couplers. Rolling stock got metal wheels and Kadee #5 couplers.

I have never had any issues with the steel wheels on the blue box Athearn's, I have a blue box rock island with the black motor and steel flywheels that I have had most of my life like 30 years or so, it was also my very first Athearn and I have never had an issue with it and I rarely ever need to clean the wheels.

I have actually had the opposite experience with the wheels . Mine all seem to actually run better with the old sintered wheels

That’s a nice haul of stuff! The Wisconsin Southern is a Walthers GP9M. It should be a good runner.

The R and C stuff is very likely a fantasy custom railroad by the previous owner.
@antonbruce1241
@antonbruce1241 2 жыл бұрын
As a model railroader who has his own customer railroad, I have to agree with you on that one. I have actually THREE custom railroads - complete with custom decalling (which I also make myself). The first is the Senova Beach and Inland Railroad, the second is the Quail Valley Railroad, and the third is the Feather River Railroad. These three have "merged" so to speak, and livery of all three can be seen running on my layout.

Hi there, RSO was part of Rivarossi. Some of MODEL POWER, AHM had the same type gears, motors drives were made in Italy, Yugoslavia & later Hong Kong mostly later MODEL POWER engines. All the fleets in the box was all interesting ! You shared on this video model train treasures! 😃 I enjoyed watching. 👍👋

Later on, Mehano made all the Model Power stuff in Yugoslavia, and also marketed under IHC. Once IHC went belly up after the old guy passed away in 2010 or so, Model Power locomotives were made by Mantua. (Mantua after separating from Tyco)

Your first item, the Eurostar is also known as a Class 393 and is the original trains that were used between the UK and France through the Eurotunnel. As it’s a Hornby model it’s actually OO Gauge (1:76 scale) rather than HO. It’s the regular scale here in the UK. The real things are electric, taking power through the pantograph on the roof from catenary. They run in formation with a power car at each end. The Hornby models have one powered and one unpowered, and come with pairs of coaches.

I can upload whatever content I want, it doesn't make me a copycat. 3. More content from different sources is a win win for everybody. Should I keep going?
