HUGE LEAK!! Can We Finally Get This RV Roadworthy?

After finally getting our classic motorhome running good we found out that our engine we rebuilt had a big oil leak at the back of the motor. So I have basically been avoiding the large amount of work I knew it was going to take to fix it. But spring time is upon us and we want to go camping so we have to get this leak fixed, as well as do some much needed upgrades to the electrical system, and install a new ladder.

@@Sleeperdude There you go Marge!!! My uncle had the same thing but on the side. It was a sin watching him come up from under the water in the pool. On left side he had 16” of hair. The right was 6” but right to the edge combed nice. Man that pool shot was trauma for us kids at the time. He finally clipped old combover “us kids called Gerard”. That was a good day. Maybe this cautionary tale inspires you sir.

Josh, I'll give you a tip to save your roof ac this time: measure how tall your vehicle is from the ground to the top of your roof ac cover. Write feet/inches how tall it is on your driver side sun visor. You will thank me when you see a low bridge height and try to drive under it👌

One thing I've noticed is Squeezie's confidence level and desire to participate has increased tremendously since she's been received well as an artist. I'm so glad she's come out of her shell a little bit. All the kids have creative talent. Wa is an amazing sketch artist and musician. Ralphie is showing promise with his metal art. Plus he's getting good at welding. I know you guys must be busting open with pride as parents.

I have enjoyed this project. As someone who has changed coil springs before and got bit by them, very dangerous but glad yall had an easier time than I had. And more I learn about Wawa we are so similar. I love Tabasco(hottest in my opinion) and Jalapeños but I am also an early to bed and early to rise person. Yes about 5am is my at home typical time for waking up. As a truck driver I am in bed by 4pm and up at 2am. And going to second someone else,it has been amazing to see the difference in Squeezy. Being more active and getting alot more Squeezy approved vehicles. Nice to see the RV on the road.

1:08:15 yeah the spring settled. I still can’t tell exactly even after watching at .25 speed a couple times, but it looks like the part you can see rotated. I love marge quickly backing away, probably thinking, am I in final destination? That thing was fastened but did it just try to kill us?! And for a tip, you might be able to fix the wiper motor. Especially in older cars, just take it apart, carefully keep track of what gear and stuff go where, but just clean out the grease cake that’s probably all solid, maybe clean some corroded parts, re-grease and reassemble. The RV is low mileage so it’s unlikely to have a worn out bushing of any kind or bad brushes, and there no circuit board type stuff to go bad.

Great chanel. I just wanted to say how important backing plates are. They are used to control air flow to your disk brake rotors to keep them cool. Also, you could have taken lower engine mounts loose, fan shroud bolts off, and put a screw jack under harmonic balancer to raise front of engine. Put blocks under engine mounts after raising then remove screw jack, then pan should come out. Some times you have to (fudge) the pan around. Keep up the great content.

Sure hope these long form vids are paying off well, because they are the best to watch. Being able to see a project followed through is so good. It's got to be a ton more work to edit and put together, so sure hope it's worth all the effort. Can't believe the Mini is ready to roll into the campground in a few weeks!! It's incredible that everything has finally come together and Ralphie has been able to aggressively cross items off that punch list. Just can't help thinking with everyone of these vids how much all those 20 years in the bodyshop helps to know how to take apart and put back together every one of these vehicles. Understood the engine work is the strongest interest, but putting wrecked cars back together again has got to help know how all the rest of it goes back together. Seeing all of that is what makes Sleeperdude the impeccable teacher that he is. Good strong work on this one all y'all!!

I have ran into that issue -- I have used a 2 foot piece of angle and removed harmonic balancer and drilled a hole near the end and used balancer bolt to secure angle to crank. Use that to jack engine high as You can and remove engine mounts and jacked it up high enough to get pan out! Saved me from pulling motor more than once.

Hi Guys, if you run your furnace or any 12 v appliance, you will drain your truck battery. Make an attractive battery box somewhere inside to keep the deep cycle battery warm, get a battery isolator, and don’t get stuck by accident. Been there, done that.
